"The Gifts that I Give my Younger Self"
Ive been working on this #Delftblue inspired special piece. A #collaboration with the #GradeR class at my daughter's school. Too precious for words! Its for a fundraiser auction. My daughter and I taught the little people how to make blue ink and water patterns, then I cut them out and glued them onto her dress. its been such a wonderfully delightful collab because cutting out #freestyle shapes that arent erstricted to adult norms and conventions has allowed this particular #delftgeisha to have a really unique and delightful #bluehairpiece and and wonderful #mermaidscallop dress. Thank you to my daughter for helping and teaching and to the dear little girls that have contributed to making this artwork truly unique and special. by @sharonbdesignsa

It is so easy to fall in love with blue and white. Possibly my Boonie Dutch heritage coming thru here, but I just love the Delft inspiration that we find all over the Cape. It is also traditionally the Connolly blue color most associated with the heavens and heavenly beings. #lapislazuli inspiration to the max. Welcome to a whole new range of delft blue heritage decor pieces, printed onto a beautiful white cotton linen. More to follow. #delftblueheaven. #happytuesdayblues🫐🙏🏻🩵🤖🧜‍♀️ by @sharonbdesignsa

In between all the other creative endeavors that I get to make, she came along last minute. The work day gets cluttered with all the admin tasks, and it was a rare Friday afternoon that I had to myself where I could find the headspace and capacity to bring her to life. “The gifts that I give my younger self” #bluedelftmaiden #studiovibes #fridaybliss . This is a special piece, created for a fundraiser auction for my little one’s school. The grade R class painted little blue ink patterns and I shall be adding them to her dress to create a collaboration piece. by @sharonbdesignsa
