NEW PODCAST EPISODE: 🎙️ S14.E6: Dominick Thompson: Beyond the Walls

@domzthompson is a man who has lived the kind of life that is now being made into a movie.

He grew up on the West side of Chicago, started hustling at a young age, and eventually ended up in federal prison. What came after was a complete reimagining of his life. Today, Dominick is an author, endurance athlete, entrepreneur, and animal advocate.

And now his life is a subject of the upcoming film @beyondthewallsfilm, directed by @shaunmonson and starring @tylepley as Dominick and @iamtabithabrown as his mother. Dominick's story is one of transformation, but it's also about strength, masculinity, compassion, and the choices that who shape who we become.

Full episode is now streaming on the Species Unite Podcast and YouTube. by @shaunmonson

“RESCUE is an incredibly powerful film.”

Shaun Monson, director of Earthlings and Unity, shares his thoughts on RESCUE, a documentary about animal rescuers working on the front lines in Ukraine.

“What he has documented is a beautiful, heartfelt, thought-provoking snapshot into activists in Ukraine.”

RESCUE opens @doclafest — the Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival — October 15th, 7:45 PM. Secure your tickets via the link in bio. by @shaunmonson

I am truly, truly, and I do mean truly, excited to announce that we are in the final stages of post production for an incredible biopic, an original intellectual property, and deeply personal project that myself and more than 50 incredibly talented people poured ourselves into. I couldn’t be more proud of this team as we finally begin introducing you all to BEYOND THE WALLS (@beyondthewallsfilm)

At its heart, this film is a visual love letter to every human who has ever lost their way and needed to find their way back. I assure you, you will see pieces of yourselves in the image of a kid from the West Side of Chicago… A kid influenced by his environment who, in turn, influenced the environment around him. A kid who made choices. A kid who survived those choices. A kid who eventually found himself behind prison walls, including an intense 40 days in the hole, never knowing that some of his darkest moments in there would one day become a coming of age story about discovering compassion, purpose, and what it truly means to be human.

BEYOND THE WALLS isn’t simply about incarceration. It’s about the walls we build within ourselves. Walls created by survival. Fear. Trauma. Environment. Expectations. And ultimately, what happens when we decide to go beyond them.

During my time in solitary confinement, I made a vow. You’ll see that moment in the film. I won’t tell you what that vow was yet, but I will tell you this: I still live by it today.

Special thank you to our incredible crew, incredible producers, incredible executive team, incredible director Shaun Monson (@shaunmonson), and incredible cast: Tyler Lepley (@tylepley), Keith David (@silverthroat), Tabitha Brown (@iamtabithabrown), Mariel Hemingway (@marielhemingway), Ray Wise (@therealraywise), Ludi Lin (@ludilin), Sarah Jeffery (@sarahmjeffery), Luis Moncada (@luis_moncada), Daria Rae Bernato (@thedariaraeberenato), and so many more.

BEYOND THE WALLS arrives Q4 winter 2027. I want you close to this journey from the start. Comment WALLS or BTW below and I’ll send you the website where you can sign up for updates.

For now, consider this the beginning.
