She (this aria) is just a baby.

What I always say there is only one first run of an aria. I can’t wait until it’s an old glove.

I heard some beautiful singing yesterday. I’m grateful.

I love this picture because it’s honest.

This one isn’t loud power; it’s quiet courage.

It’s #singanway

I’m always going to remember the morning of this shoot that marked the symbolic end of an era.

Suddenly, I was experiencing the raw depths of grief that I didn’t even fully realize was still there. I did not expect my emotional reaction and it sure wasn’t timely.

But I got on the bus for NYC through my tears. My contacts were blurry. I got a migraine and recovered on the floor of Ripley Grier. I ate a protein bar, took some medicine and showed up.

I showed up with a person that I trust to really sees me through the lens @meredithhartphotos

And we created anyway; capturing my vulnerable strength in those moments.

And the wind in my hair doesn’t hurt …😎

This is one of the four new photos that I chose :) An outdoor shoot is different for me, but I love these. Go see @meredithhartphotos …she’s amazing.

Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor.

Keep going.

And thank your mentors!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who came to our meeting today🥰

We wanted to meet community members who want opera in the Capital District and hear their ideas✅. Mission not only accomplished, but blown out of the water!

We also thank everyone who has reached out via email and supported our social media 🙌

We plan to have our first fundraising event in December. Stay tuned for details!

I felt like singing pop yesterday. I was also glued to my playlists and neurodivergent burning them out.

So this is a rare share, but if I teach all styles, I’ve gotta sing them.

It’s still pingy lol.

But how proud of my @ccsumusic students am I?? 😭😭😭😭

We had @haleygriffithmusic come to play for our first studio class.

Some of these students just sang classical music for the FIRST time. And they slayed.

Just feeling grateful today.

All sorts of goodness has come my way lately.

I’m a very physical teacher 😂…. And I think the mom in me also comes right out.

HILARIOUS movements in the mirror. @naomikobz actually captioned this first with “the only performance is the one taking place in the mirror.”

That’s not true tho, bc she sounds beautiful and is working harder than any student I’ve ever had.

This is an old habit aria for her so we had to just chill. Once she relaxed and calmed her nervous system, things started happening.

My scarlet faced post Jazzercise pic. 🥵

But like for real. This is probably the most important thing I have done to heal since EMDR therapy.

Benefits to my singing:

Confidence
Breath management
Core strength
Posture

Benefits to my life:

Confidence
Emotion Regulation
Dopamine
Feeling like a baddie bc I can carry things
Creative outlet
Community
A new student

Benefits to my health:

Lower blood pressure
More muscle mass
More muscle definition
More energy

I wish I was already at 75 classes, so I could hit 100 for the year, but I’m on my way. I was also able to go heavier in my weights during class 💪!

I do the best I can. And I love it so.
