As I started putting this post together, I realized how hard it is to truly put into words what this school meant to me. VSSA became so much more than just a place to train or go to school; it became a place that shaped me into the person I am today. Not every day was easy. There were long days (especially in calc oml), exhausting training sessions (literally like 20 runs 🤦‍♀️), injuries, setbacks, and moments where everything felt undeniably overwhelming. But through all of it, this place taught me the true definition of GRIT. It taught me how to keep showing up, how to push through adversity, and how to chase something bigger than myself (literally and figuratively hehe). From training and traveling around the world to laughing after completely failing a math test, this school gave me some of the most amazing and unforgettable experiences. Being surrounded every day by people who shared the same passion and drive pushed me to become better not only as an athlete, but as a teammate, student, and person. I am beyond grateful for every coach, teacher, teammate, and friend who supported me along the way. Thank you for believing in me, challenging me, and helping me grow through every high and low. I will always carry these memories and lessons with me. “The mountains are calling, and I must go.” — John Muir Now onto the East! 🎓🎉 #bye #classof2026 by @shay.armistead3

Almost 700 days after his tragic laceration, Aleks Kilde makes his WC return tomorrow - wearing VIX.🔪 This is the most meaningful photo we’ve gotten in a long time. Seeing that Aleks puts his trust in VIX, after everything he’s gone through, is absolutely humbling and the greatest honor our team could ask for🙏 Good luck and Godspeed tomorrow, Aleks! This will be one of the most impressive comebacks in ski racing history. Thank you @shay.armistead3 @johnbianchi_ for the photo! by @shay.armistead3
