If you find yourself consistently starting over on your fitness journey, you don’t need more motivation.

You need healthy habits that can hold up when life gets busy, stressful, or unpredictable.

I know because I’ve lived it. While becoming a new wife, moving to a new state, and caring for my mom during her cancer journey, my routine changed and my body did too. I had to lean into the same realistic habits I’d spent years teaching my clients.

That’s why I created Healthy Habits for Women 30+.

It gives you simple workouts, balanced nutrition support, and practical tools to help you stay consistent without all-or-nothing rules.

You can start where you are. You can come back after an off day. And you can build a healthier lifestyle that works in real life.

Looking for a staycation minutes from DC or Northern Virginia? Then @thesatirealexandria should be at the top of your list for a weekend of relaxation and self-care! I did a brief staycation there last month for my 40th birthday and I left wondering why I didn’t stay longer lol. Old town Alexandria is such a gem and this property definitely compliments the charm of the area. I will absolutely be back for another weekend of rest, ease and comfort. ✨

What hotel is your go-to for a staycation?

When life gets hectic and seasons are trying, you don’t need a perfect routine but one small habit that works on chaotic days. Moving for 30 minutes can be simple and effective! It doesn’t have to be overcomplicated or require lots of equipment. A weekly non-negotiable for me is strength training at least three times for 30 minutes. Why? Building stronger muscles is the cheat code as we age and comes with a long list of health benefits other than one’s physical appearance. And mind you, these 30-minute workouts aren’t always super pretty but it gets the job done and is something I can stick to even when life feels a bit messy.

Save this for your next busy day and follow for simple workouts that fit real life. ✨

The moves:
Complete 3 rounds. Rest 45–60 seconds between exercises as needed. Start with a dynamic warm up for 5 minutes.

•Dumbbell Goblet Squat — 10–12 reps
- Modification: bodyweight squat to a chair or bench
•Dumbbell Romanian Deadlift — 10–12 reps
- Cue: Keep the dumbbells close to your legs and push hips back.
•Alternating Reverse Lunge — 8–10 reps per side
- Modification: hold onto a wall, bench, or rack for support.
•Dumbbell Glute Bridge — 12–15 reps
- Cue: Pause and squeeze at the top.

Finisher:
•2 rounds: 30 sec bodyweight squat pulses, 30 sec rest

Happy Sweating! (Y’all see how I came up out that hoodie 🤣💪🏾)

✨Year 40✨

September’s very own (9/30 baby ☺️) closed out the month and started a new decade with ease, relaxation, some dilly dallying and a heart full of gratitude and thankfulness. 🫶🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾

The truth is, the last 2.5 years of my 30’s took me down through there mmk! 😅 There were some wins and blessings of course, but it was mostly a masterclass in long-suffering; learning how to not let disappointment, setbacks, grief and the trials of life dictate my faith. God is STILL God and is in control. So, I made up my mind that I would keep showing up in spite of, even if all I had was tears. Was it easy? Absolutely not. Do, I still have my moments? Absolutely! But when I look back I see how God has kept me! 🥹🙌🏾 …How prayers were answered when I didn’t have the strength to always pray, how my tribe stood in the gaps, how He continuously made a way out of no way, how my mind is still intact and how I still have joy. And when I felt God was the most quiet is when He was doing His best work on the inside of me.

After everything I’ve emerged from unscathed, you can’t tell me a thing about my God! And THIS year, I intend to walk boldly into the very things that seemed delayed but are en route, and I will ALSO be reclaiming my well-being in every aspect. All that God has for me has not passed me and it hasn’t passed you either! Whatever season you’re in, know that He will work ALL things together for your good.

May this decade be one of my best yet…I know it will be. 🫶🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾

A little late to the party to accept how Autumn came in with an attitude 🤣. I went from dilly dallying in minimal threads straight to sweaters and boots chile. But I’m ready to pull out the REAL fits, so I’ll oblige! ☺️🤎🍁

Summer girl, you ended perfectly! Fall babies, it’s our time to shine! 🥰🫶🏾

It’s 6 days until Shay Day! Now, this was not my original 40th vacay I had planned, but maybe it was the pivot I needed. I took an early birthday trip to O’ahu, Hawaii. We mainly explored Waikiki & the North shore and it was everything! Perfect weather, great food, laidback vibes and amazing culture and people. S/o to God for working it all together for my good regardless. We will definitely be back to explore the other islands of Hawaii.☺️🏝️🫶🏾

And let this be a reminder that when things don’t work out as planned, embrace the pivot. God knows exactly what we need and when we need it! ✨

Am I right or am I right?! 😆🤣 Listen, it’s girl math. I don’t make the rules!

I shop online plenty, but for me there’s still something about going in the store and trying on things and having the full shopping experience. As a former retail manager and corporate retail girlie, it’ll always be my happy place. It also reminds me of my mom, as we used to stay in somebody store together 🥰. Like I said, instant mood boost! 🤣

Happy Saturday! Get out & do something that puts a smile on your face. ✨

Social interaction is a key component of living well! And at this age and with competing priorities, meeting up with your friends doesn’t always fit in on the weekend. If you take that approach…next thing you know, we won’t be seeing each other until the end of the year 😩😂. I’m intentional about spending time with my loved ones and a lil midweek pop out for a cute friend date ain’t never hurt nobody! I’ll take HusBae to the next class! 🥰

@cocusocial & @thyme2spare, I’ll be back! 🫶🏾

I reflect often but every year as Shay Day approaches, I find myself sitting in my reflections more than normal. My 30’s have been a time 😅🙏🏾🙌🏾! And I will bask in the last 5 weeks of 39 that I have left, but I can’t help but feel oh so ready for 40! What I’ve been able to glean from my 30’s will only make me better in my 40’s. Here’s a few lessons that have helped form the woman I am today and will continue to carry me in every season.

What are some lessons you’ve learned in your 30’s that stuck with you?
