I was on my way back to my hotel from Brooklyn last night and I started recording because not only was her voice beautiful in the empty subway, at 10:30pm, she wasn't singing for tips, she was singing just to sing. But then a group of girls, still dressed from a fancy event came down the stairs and started singing along and dancing like the platform was their very own private #erastour. This is #girlhood at its finest and I feel so lucky to have witnessed this. I smiled the entire way home and it's a moment I won't soon forget. I wish I could tag her. And I can't help but think that @taylorswift would also love to know that this moment - this joy - exists. Add this to the many reasons I love New York. #swifties #nyc #subway by @sheagilliam

Physically home, mentally still here.

I had no expectations of Milan. We showed up with an Airbnb booked and tickets to the Duomo, but beyond that, it was a fairly open schedule. We asked our bartenders, friends, and some locals for recommendations and while it's not my normal way to travel, it ended up being the perfect start to our "tour of Italy." #italyadventures #mamamia #preggo #milan #jetlagged by @sheagilliam

20 years. 7,305 days. That's a long time.

Long enough for...
Five Olympics.
Five different US Presidents.
A vintage wine to have aged.
Multiple careers, houses, and hairstyles.
Technology to have evolved from flip phones to AI.

And us. We also survived the last 20 years.

Not because it was always easy. Not because we always agreed.

But because we stayed and continually chose each other. Through every version of ourselves.

Whenever someone hears how long we have been together, I get the inevitable question of,"what advice do you have for making it this far?" and I always struggle to answer that because it's not just any one thing. But what I do always say is that love is a choice most days and we just kept choosing us. Even on the days when I was frustrated and angry or felt like this wasn't the life I wanted, I stayed.

We were so young when we started this. We had no idea who we would become or what life would ask of us. I had no idea what I would have missed if I hadn't stayed.

I love the life we’ve built. Happy Anniversary! Here’s to the next 20! 🤍 by @sheagilliam

Naomi is about to start her sophomore year of high school and wanted a fresh cut. Ever since we moved to California, @amberlrod has been the one to make her hair dreams a reality. Naomi finds the most obscure (usually Japanese or Korean inspired) cuts and Amber executes them perfectly. Naomi trusts her implicitly and always walks away a little more confident. I love watching them together because they have their own relationship. It's not just one of a client and stylist, but it's a friendship. I'm lucky to have talented people in my life, but I'm even luckier to have friends that love my children deeply. #freshcuts #sophomoreyear #herewecome #dimodasalon by @sheagilliam

Tokyo :: Part Two

I didn't have a plan or any reservations in Tokyo. I had some suggestions from friends in the back of my mind, but I mostly just wanted to give myself time to rest + wander in a new to me city. While I truly enjoyed this, it made me realize I'm very Type A and also love having a plan (many plans) and some reservations. Next time.... by @sheagilliam

Tokyo Part One :: Earlier this year, I took a solo trip to Japan + Korea, and it was exactly what I needed.

Wandering the streets of Japan in the quiet hours of the early morning and late at night reminded me of why I love traveling so much. Not because of the big bucket-list moments, but because of the chance to experience a different way of life through its food, its people, and its everyday rituals. Visiting other parts of the world feels like it expands my world just a little bit.

But no matter where I travel, I always come home a little more myself. by @sheagilliam

It's been a New York minute.

All of my NYC posts are the same - people that I love, food that makes me happy. Late nights, early mornings, running late to all of it. Leaving with a fully belly, an even fuller heart, and even fuller inbox.

Happy 14 to the boy who completed us. You made our family whole and you bring us joy every single day. I love you endlessly, Indiana Owen. #happybirthday #indianalove #14 by @sheagilliam

From the Bixby Bridge to the Calla Lily Valley, I love every part of Big Sur and I feel so lucky to be able to share it with my kids. #springbreak #NorCal #BigSur #californialove by @sheagilliam

A scattered collection of spring break moments from Big Sur... one of those places that never stops feeling a little unreal.
The ritual of crossing Bixby Bridge, the surprise of freezing river water, the wildflowers being wild. Somehow it all feels familiar and like the first time every time I visit. And every time, I say to Drew, "we should visit more often." #BigSur #SpringBreak #NorCal #favoriteplaces #mems by @sheagilliam
