“I’m the outlaw, bang bang.”

That was how he announced himself, with a grin and all the swagger in the world.

It’s how he showed up. And he was always there!

He was there when my son was born; there on my OSU recruiting visit (proud to say he shook Coach Eddie Sutton’s hand); there when I met my husband; there at my son’s wedding; at my daughter’s college graduation; and ready to pull great grandpa duty when all of my grandbabies arrived.

Every chapter of my life has him in it.

He didn’t have to be.

He chose to.

I haven’t cried. I’m sure at some point I will, but I’m at a remarkable peace because I’m glad he is no longer in pain.

Thank you for all of it. Rest easy, outlaw.

You did good down here 🤍 by @shealeebrown

I’m very transparent about My Why!

And any day I can wake up and be a blessing to them, makes me happy 😍

Today was the culmination of a gift we’ve been working on for seven months.

And like with all other things in life, the timing was on God’s perfect plan.

Happy Birthday Mama!

It’s a real baddie, “make a way out of no way”, ain’t no one gonna love you the way I love you, “I’m ya mama, baby” birthday today. 😍😍 by @shealeebrown

This is my favorite picture of Tyler and Jim; even over the graduation and wedding pictures.

It’s the perfect representation of the outlaw and his little sidekick 🥰

Cape on, arms out, zero fear, because he knew he’d catch him 💙 by @shealeebrown

Thank you to all my loved ones, family, friends, and coworkers, (especially to those I am lucky to have who fit in multiple categories) who took the time to wish me Happy Birthday🎉🎁🎈

This day has special meaning to me and Donald and why we celebrate the way we do.

Today is not only the 52nd anniversary of my birth, it’s also the 31st anniversary of our engagement (who remembers birthday number 21…🙋🏾‍♀️ and have the stories to tell 😂).

I’ve never had another birthday party since and never plan to.

Perfection’s a hard thing to follow and there’s just some things that can’t be “outdone”; especially when you are made to feel celebrated every day.

But…, I truly enjoy the effort @donaldbrown1970 puts in every year and always encourage him to keep trying 😉👏🏾

SN: Donald reminds me that I have had one birthday party since I was 21, but we (and our friends 😂) behaved so recklessly @thetaylorshae was thoroughly ashamed of us (and made sure to say so) and we almost missed our flight to Spain 🤦🏾‍♀️

“Yes, she was a means to an end, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t going to enjoy our time together. That would be mean to myself. And yes, I just used mean in three different ways.” Clusterf*ck

Happy Father’s Day, love @donaldbrown1970.

I’d like to think my own discernment is responsible for Tyler, Taylor and the little minions hitting the father/papa jackpot but I know it was nothing but the grace of God and the man he made for me.

The way you love us is special and unmatched.

You are the most selfless person we know and your commitment to our family has never wavered.

Our world works simply because of you. 😘 by @shealeebrown

As always, the book we selected is just the beginning.

It never takes long before we move from the pages to the people sitting across the table. The stories about our lives. Our struggles. Our joys. The things we carry quietly and loudly 🥴.

That’s what this group does. It creates a space where a diverse circle of women can bring their full selves (different backgrounds, different journeys, different perspectives) and find connection.

We don’t just read together. We see each other. And sometimes, that’s the most important thing.

Brunch, books, and bold women!

Stories are shared, voices are heard, and power grows stronger together….all because of books📚 😍 💫✨#BookClubGang by @shealeebrown

Wow…my aunt is 60.

I wake up every March 7 and say “it’s my Aunt Sandy’s birthday”.

Of course because I love her but also because when I was in college, I would use her ID to get in all the 21 and up night spots and had her birthday memorized 💅💅 #TrueStory
