If you know me, she was my everything. My heart is broken 💔

I still have yet to find the words after almost a week.

Well, well, well… we’re BACK! 😂🍿

After last week’s Top 10 HBCU Rivalries list had everybody in their feelings, we decided to break things down by division.

And we’re kicking things off with DIVISION II! 🏆

Now, before y’all start arguing in the comments, let’s get a few things straight. 😂

We’re looking at ALL sports, not just football! We’re talking atmosphere, attendance, history, traditions, longevity, head-to-head competition, alumni engagement and everything that makes a rivalry LEGENDARY.

And here’s where some feelings might get hurt…

Just because you don’t like another school doesn’t automatically make them your rival. 👀

And if the only time folks show up or care about the matchup is during football season, are we talking about a TRUE institutional rivalry or just a historic football matchup? 🤔

There’s a difference!

Now that we’ve gotten THAT out of the way…

🔥 Who did we rank too high?

👀 Who got disrespected?

🍿 Which rivalry has NO BUSINESS being in the Top 10?

🏆 And which D-II rivalry deserves more respect than it’s getting?

But don’t just name your school. Tell us WHY! What’s the history, legendary game, upset, championship or tradition that makes your rivalry different?

Bring the receipts! 😂🔥

And EVERY HBCU Program that is tagged, be sure to follow them!

Well, well, well... 😂🍿

Y’all had A LOT to say about yesterday’s Top 10 HBCU Rivalries!

Some schools were ranked too high. Some were ranked too low. And according to y’all, some shouldn’t have made the list AT ALL! 😂

But one thing became clear: we need to break these rivalries down by division.

🏆 Division I Rivalries
🏆 Division II Rivalries
🏆 Interdivisional Rivalries (D1 vs. D2)

And PLEASE remember, football does NOT have a monopoly on HBCU rivalries. We’re talking ALL SPORTS!

Now, if you’re going to argue that a rivalry deserves the TOP spot, tell us WHY!

What’s the game, unforgettable moment, tradition, historic upset, or generational grudge that makes it LEGENDARY?

Don’t just name the schools. Tell us the STORY!

We want ALL the receipts! 👀🍿🔥

Might need to hop on @HBCUNightly this week to discuss!

#HBCU #HBCUSports by @sheherdola

Alright HBCU family, let’s argue a little. 😂🍿

I hit up some of my family at @hbcunightly to talk about the TOP 10 HBCU RIVALRIES, and we already know this list is about to hurt some feelings!

But here’s the thing: a rivalry is bigger than what happens on the football field.

We’re talking basketball, bands, homecoming, campus traditions, bragging rights, generations of history, and schools that simply CANNOT stand losing to each other.

Now we have questions. 👀

🔥 Which rivalry did we get absolutely RIGHT?

👀 Which school has no business being ranked that high?

😂 What’s the PETTIEST thing you’ve ever witnessed during rivalry week?

And if your school didn’t make the list, make your case!

Bring the receipts, the stories, and the school pride. We want ALL the smoke (respectfully). 😂

Homecoming season is here, & one of my favorite parts of game day is the tailgate — so HBCU Unplugged™ is taking it on the road with the Tailgate Crawl. 👀

The Tailgate Crawl is where we pull up on alumni, students, fans and families, learn what they’re cooking, hear the stories behind their tailgate traditions, experience the culture, try the food — and of course, rate

So what tailgates should we pull up to? by @sheherdola

H B C U U N P L U G G E D is finally here! Now go follow! 💕 → @HBCUUnplugged

Honestly, I’m scared shit outta my mind. But with God, ALL Things Are Possible.

I’ve loved sports for as long as I can remember. Growing up with my great-grandmother & great-great aunt, we never missed UNC basketball or the Chicago Bulls — Mike’s 2nd 3-peat, by the way.

Since 2020, God has given me a vision I couldn’t quite put together. But it kept chasing me through the work, the people, the moves & countless conversations.

From Clubhouse to group chats to @hbcunightly, sports has always been part of the conversation.

Over the last 7 months, it finally clicked: my love for HBCUs, sports, storytelling & everything happening beyond the game belonged together.

Then MEAC Media Day happened.

I never imagined myself in front of the camera doing interviews. I always thought my work belonged behind the scenes.

But God said otherwise.

And I’m sure my bestie @asisalisha was somewhere putting that prayer in lol.

Now I know HBCU Unplugged is meant to tell HBCU sports stories differently — but also approach this landscape differently.

Everything I’ve been building has been leading me here.

I don’t even know exactly how I’m going to financially make all of this work yet — but watch God work. The blessings & testimony that come from this will bless somebody.

And to everyone who helped me LEAP through encouragement, education, conversations or simply believing in me — THANK YOU. I have to acknowledge you one by one:
