Allow us to reintroduce ourselves!! 🕺🏼🩵

Part One: Reintroducing Deanna Doherty, Psychotherapist and founder of Shifting Tides Psychotherapy — a practice shaped by her belief that life moves in waves. Deanna works with clients to navigate those shifting tides with honesty, compassion, and a therapeutic relationship built on real connection.

In the therapy room, she shows up fully: celebrating wins, sitting with the hard moments, and creating a space where every emotion is welcome. When she’s not working, she’s likely doing hot yoga, running, painting, or by the ocean collecting shells. And she always makes time for her dog, Rex 🩵

Deanna’s mission is simple: to help people come home to themselves and trust that they are worthy of all the good life has to offer.

Part Four: Reintroducing Madeline Pucheril, a psychotherapist at Shifting Tides Psychotherapy. Madeline believes healing does not have to be rushed or perfect to be meaningful. She invites perfectionism and pressure to step aside so change can happen one compassionate moment at a time. One deep breath. One hard conversation. One anxious thought gently noticed.

In the therapy room, Madeline creates a space that is warm, collaborative, and very human. While therapy is serious work, she believes it does not have to be cold. Clients often appreciate her ability to be nonjudgmental while also being direct and offering practical skills that can be used outside of session. Therapy with Madeline may include mindfulness, journaling, role playing difficult conversations, or simply slowing down together.

What Madeline loves most about her work is witnessing clients find self compassion and begin to release guilt and shame that never belonged to them. These moments, though they often come gradually, can be incredibly freeing.

Outside of therapy, Madeline stays grounded by exploring allergen friendly restaurants and matcha spots, moving her body in ways that honor chronic pain, and spending time in community with friends. Her hope for every client is that they know they deserve to come out of survival mode and that true change is possible. And yes, she is the kind of therapist who thinks about her clients throughout the week.

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves!! 🌸🤍

Part three: Reintroducing Ava Iannitti, a Psychotherapist at Shifting Tides Psychotherapy. A therapist who believes therapy should feel human, warm, and grounding, not weird or sterile. Ava brings a relaxed, present energy into the room, creating space for honesty, connection, and even humor when it feels right.

In the therapy room, Ava shows up fully and stays present through every moment. She loves witnessing clients step into their power, reach meaningful goals, and feel more empowered in their lives.

Ava believes therapy is a team effort. She won’t fix you because you aren’t broken. Instead, she walks alongside you, supporting growth, self understanding, and lasting change.

Outside the therapy room, Ava stays grounded by spending time with loved ones, reading, and enjoying great meals, gentle reminders that we are all human on a floating rock in space.

Ava’s hope for every client is simple: that they come to deeply understand and unconditionally love themselves.

Hypervigilance can be exhausting, especially when you don’t even realize how often you’re doing it.

Sometimes, the things we learned to do to feel safe can follow us into situations where we no longer need them. Learning to slow down, feel safe, and let your guard down takes time. And that’s okay. 🤍 You don’t have to be on high alert all the time.

Cluster journaling is a great way to start journaling or come back to it if you thought it wasn’t for you. If staring at a blank page never sparked creativity or gave you a sense of direction, this might be a good place to start.

All you need to do is start with one word and let your thoughts flow from there. Write down whatever comes to mind, connect related thoughts, and see where it takes you. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. 🤎🤍📔

Comment if you have tried this!! Thoughts? 💭

With the clocks changing this Sunday, you might notice a shift in your mood, energy, or motivation as the days get shorter and darker earlier.

Remember to give yourself some grace as you adjust. You don’t have to be as productive or have everything figured out all the time.

A little reminder that it’s okay to slow down and give yourself what you need. 🤍

“What’s wrong with me?” Is not the question you should be asking yourself.

Ask : “What do I need right now?”

Sometimes we’re so quick to judge ourselves for how we feel or how we react that we forget to pause and understand what’s going on underneath.

Maybe you need rest. Maybe you need support. Maybe you need to set a boundary or give yourself a little more compassion.

You don’t have to criticize yourself for struggling. Instead of asking what’s wrong with you, try asking what your feelings might be telling you. 🩷

Trauma can leave you questioning your own experiences. You might find yourself wondering if something really happened the way you remember it, if it was actually that bad, or if you’re just being too sensitive.

When you’ve been made to doubt yourself, it can be hard to know what to trust. Part of healing is learning to reconnect with yourself and trust your own feelings and experiences again. You don’t have to minimize what happened to you to make sense of it. 🤍

Haunted house : therapy edition 👻🎃

Your past has a way of showing up when you least expect it. Learning to understand your reactions is part of the process! 🧡

What’s in your haunted house?

Something I hear a lot in therapy is, “Maybe I should have known better.”

After something painful happens, it can feel easier to focus on what we could have done differently than to sit with the fact that we were hurt by someone else. But taking responsibility for what happened to you is not the same as having control over it. You did the best you could with what you knew and what you had at the time. Healing can also mean learning to give yourself the same compassion you would give someone you love. 🤍🤍

As therapists, we want you to know that you can ask us things like this!!! You can tell us when you need to slow down, when you don’t want to talk about something, or when you need a little extra support putting something into words. There’s room for questions, boundaries, uncertainty, and even changing your mind!

Hello, October! 🎃🤍🍁

Here’s to a new month, a fresh start, and hopefully a little more time to slow down and check in with yourself.
What are you hoping to make a little more room for this month??
