Let’s be friends!😏 by @shimmer__salon

This transformation was to good not to post however, her skin did lift so let’s talk about it 👇🏼

✨What is skin lifting?
•Skin lifting can happen during a wax when the first layer of skin is unintentionally removed. It can appear as shiny, pink or a raw patch.

✨Why can this happen?
•Using Retinol/Acne products or certain medications can thin the skin
•AHAs/BHAs or other exfoliating products
•Sunburn or recent tanning
•Overly Dry or sensitive skin

It is important to know what you are using on your skin before your wax appointment so your esthetician can determine the best method for your wax. To avoid lifting, stop using retinols or exfoliants 72hrs before appointment 🫶🏼

✨If lifting occurs:
•Keep it clean
•Apply a soothing ointment to help soothe and protect
•Avoid makeup on the area for a few days

Remember, we all have different skin types and everyone’s skin can react differently to waxing. Use these tips to help prepare for your future wax 🤎
