🛼 if you had told me two years ago that i would be a roller skater, i would’ve laughed my a$$ off.

oh what a beautiful journey it has been!

i teared up a little going through my old footage—frustration, pain, tears, anger and isolation turn into happy dances, joy, laughter, confidence and friendships. 🥹

i’m seriously surprised that i stuck with it. whew i was awful, carrying a lot of weight and uncomfortable, out of shape, old bones, no muscle strength AT ALL, horrible balance, sweaty (SO SWEATY)…i look miserable in my old practice sesh videos. but i’m so proud of myself for pushing through!

during year one i practiced a lot and was super focused, but i just kinda skedaddled around aimlessly.

i started taking classes from Coach E in the spring of 2023 and bagan to level up. and through her classes, i met other skaters on the same journey!

everything started to come together during year two.

-i don’t practice every day, but i watch and analyze skate tutorials and skaters’ instagram reels daily.

-i started going to the rink and growing my skate community irl and online.

-now i listen to music when i practice, it helps me get out of my head. (i didn’t really do that the first year because i was concentrating lol)

things are really starting to click! my favorite thing is finally getting to a point where i can feel the music and jam out without having to think too hard about simply staying vertical.

YEAR 3 GOALS:
✅ learn LOTS of choreography
✅ master my spins
✅ improve my flow
✅ learn more rhythm and jam skate moves (is jb too ambitious? 😏)
✅ try artistic skating
✅ go to the rink weekly
✅ have more skate meetups with friends
✅ take some skate vacays
✅ meet online skate friends irl
✅ learn to park skate
✅ build strength
✅ help others find joy in roller skating
✅ and just HAVE FUN!

LET’S ROLL! 🤘

🛼 it’s my skate-a-versarrryyyy! 365/365

while i’ve fallen A LOT, i GET BACK UP and keep rollin’.

sweat, falls, bruises, pain, even a chipped tooth…but it’s been the best year ever!

i’m on one helluva roll and i’m not stopping anytime soon. 🥳

🛼 slacked on skating this year, but 2026… IT’S ON.

i’m BIG mad at myself for my lack of discipline. lost a whole year of progress 😭 trying to tell myself that it’s
OKAY.

BUT — the spinning, balance work, and footwork i practiced OFF skates has actually made a difference! check those toe spins 👀 couldn’t do that a year ago 🤘 guess my spinning in random places series continues — off AND on skates! by @shipphappens__

ofc i got the footage 😂 skATE 360

✅ remember to check your gear (and pants!) before rollin’ lol

also—always 👏 wear 👏 safety 👏 gear when roller skating outside! i usually wear @triple8quad covert knee pads and @187killerpads wrist guards. that day i didn’t bc it was like 112° 🥵 got nasty cuts and bruises on my knees and hands. i’m okay. just dumb. lol

🛼 life of a roller skating social media manager 🎥 best way to get content!

didn’t wear my protective gear, so i was SUPER nervous about falling on the rocky, bumpy concrete. and i haven’t skated outside since november! WHEW 😮‍💨 time to get back to it.

SO HAPPY IT’S SPRING!! #skateszn

🛼 birthday skate!

the rink’s normally closed on sat nights, but @rebirthrollerz_se had a party… just for me! 😉

HAD A BLAST!!! my body aches all over — but WORTH IT.

🥰 thank you @kayrista_renee for hangin’ out and for the 🎥

i really gotta work on my flow and add more than 5 moves to my repertoire lol. i feel i haven’t progressed much since this time last year.

yeah, i got excuses:
• haven’t been to the rink since july
• work + life hittin’ hard
• new-ish wheels
• party started at 10 pm 👵😴💤
• muscles felt like jello
• i’m old 😜
• i forget how to skate when camera starts rolling 🙄
• still hurting from friday’s outside skate (LOTS of falls on concrete)

BUT, there’s NO EXCUSE — i need more discipline. FOCUS.
• skate every damn day
• build endurance + stamina
• start strength training
• practice practice practice
• start going back to @its.coach.e’s classes

🙌 still had a blast, falls and slips and all.

I’M 52 B!TCHES!!! 😎
