My sister = my tribute act😂 . Today we arrived at work in exactly the same outfit. Not for the first time. For anyone new here, I opened Freja’s Home nine months ago—an independent boutique in the heart of Barnard Castle, created with a little help from my family. Well, a lot of help from my family. Inside, you’ll find timeless clothes, beautiful gifts and small brands from around the world—all chosen because they’re well made, distinctive and a pleasure to live with. If that sounds like your kind of shop, follow along for new arrivals, easy outfit ideas and a little of life behind the scenes. Melissa and I will also be starting our Instagram Lives in a couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to show you all the wonderful new additions to the store. Follow so you don’t miss our first one—we’d love to have you there. And if something catches your eye, you can browse the latest arrivals through the link in our bio. And no, we’re not twins. by @shopfrejashome

A post about something I do other than Freja’s Home…Started playing about five years ago. I’m not particularly good at it—but this sport brings so much joy . Pure escapism. Incredible list of benefits too - mental, physical and social. We play all year round and, unless it’s absolutely pouring down, we get on court and battle the elements (and the voices in our heads.😂 IYKYK) So lucky to have a great little club here in Barnard Castle. Tennis is a lifesaver. What can’t you say no to? SEO words: tennis after fifty, women playing tennis, social tennis, staying active, finding your next chapter by @shopfrejashome
New shoes, and a little treat for my feet. These are the Lejan Melrose sneakers: from a Spanish barefoot footwear brand co-founded by a paediatric podiatrist. After a double bunionectomy, having a Morton’s neuroma removed, and years of putting my feet through tennis, yoga and hiking, I’ve learned that foot comfort really does come first. I love that the Melrose has a zero-drop, flexible sole and an anatomical toe box, while still having the retro look I wanted. A sneaker that’s kind to your feet and looks this good: is that the holy grail? What brands have you found that get both right? I’m always on the lookout. We love discovering thoughtful brands that are still a little under the radar and bringing them to Freja’s Home. Follow along for more. Cake Room. In our fifties, if it’s not comfortable, we’re not wearing it. Luckily, @lebonshoppe has comfort covered without losing an ounce of cool. Understated, beautifully made and so easy to wear on repeat. Your autumn basics? Sorted. Have you tried their socks yet? Animal prints are having a moment this autumn, and what a lovely way to brighten a rainy day than with a little leopard. ☔️#independentboutique #umbrellas #smallgifts by @shopfrejashome
Just getting my Christmas list in early… 🎄 The Freja’s Home gift guides are coming in early November, and I’d love your help. Who do you find hardest to buy for? The person who has everything? The one who says “don’t get me anything”? And what would you like to see in the guides? Little luxuries, lovely gifts under £25, something else? I’ll be taking notes… and trying not to add everything to my own list. by @shopfrejashome
An independent boutique, darling. A family business, obviously. And the family and friends have been very hands-on. 😂 We’re simply bursting with beautiful autumn knitwear, gorgeous scarves and divine ideas for Christmas gifts. Find us on The Bank in Barnard Castle — not on the high street, obviously, dahling. And online at frejashome.com. #AutumnWardrobeStaples #IndependentBoutique #ChristmasGiftIdeas by @shopfrejashome
