Allow me to re-introduce myself…

Hi, my name is Princess. I’m the face, baker, designer, chocolate melter, taste tester supervisor, photographer, marketing department, dishwasher… and occasional hot mess behind Yummy Couture. 😂

I’m a treatmaker with a background in fashion design & marketing, so apparently my brain decided regular desserts weren’t enough. They needed to be cute, extra, and dressed better than most people. 💅🍰

Around here, you’ll find everything from mystery Cake Baos and cake pops to chocolate purses, stilettos, and whatever ridiculous idea pops into my head next.

I love creating treats that make people stop and say, “WAIT… you can EAT that?!”

And yes, I take my baking seriously.

Myself?
Not so much. 😂

So if you’re new here, welcome to Yummy Couture! 🩷
Come for the treats. Stay for the chaos.

🥒💚 What’s the dill?! Yisela is ELEVEN! 💕🎀

We’re kind of a big dill around here! 😂 Celebrating Yisela’s 11th birthday with pickle themed cake pops, chocolate covered Rice Krispies treats, and pretzel rods! 🥒💖

A little sweet, a little salty, and a whole lot of pickle obsession! 🎉

Made with love by Yummy Couture 💕

🎃👻🧙‍♀️ SMASH, CRACK & SURPRISE! 🍫🔨

Not all smashables are created equal! 😂

I decided to make each of my Halloween chocolate smashables a different level of difficulty to make things a little more interesting!

🎃 Level 1 – Pumpkin: Easy peasy!
👻 Level 2 – Ghostly Witch: A little more challenging!
🧙‍♀️ Level 3 – Witch’s Cauldron: The ultimate challenge! Complete with Jolly Rancher candy bubbles on top! 🍬🫧

Each one was filled with sweet surprises, but getting to the goodies was half the fun! 😂🍭

Which one would YOU want to smash first?! 🔨💕

Happy Fall Y’all! 🍂🎃 From my family to yours, we want to thank you for your continued love supporting my little bakery. 🧡🤎🫶🏼 by @shopyummycouture

Halloween party treats with a little trial and error! 🎃🍏🍫

My client requested skinless mini caramel apples and milk chocolate peanut butter haystacks.

Well, after MANY failed attempts, I learned that caramel and skinless apples are NOT friends! 😂 Nothing sticks, and the apples turn brown within hours. Save yourself the headache!

Instead, I made green apple flavored cake pops dipped in caramel and rolled in peanuts. They were a HIT! 🙌

And the haystacks? Probably the easiest treats I’ve ever made, and it was just as big of a hit! Even Jerry and Callie requested them for Thanksgiving! 😂❤️

Special request? Challenge accepted! 🍫🥔💕

A sweet birthday surprise for a very special mom! 🎀 This time, the request was for Milk Chocolate Covered Sea Salt Kettle Chips!

Now, I’ve dipped a lot of things in chocolate, but potato chips? That was a first for me! 😂

For those wondering, this is what 1 WHOLE POUND of chocolate covered kettle chips looks like! 😍 Every single chip was individually hand dipped and FULLY coated in milk chocolate. And let me tell you, this was definitely a labor of love! 😂

It took quite a while to finish because I swear we had some pesky rats running around the house. 🐀 Somehow, chips kept mysteriously disappearing throughout the process.

And by pesky rats, I mean JERRY! 🤣🤣 Apparently, quality control was working overtime!

Sweet, salty, crunchy, and chocolatey… what’s not to love?! 🍫💕

Another first in the books for Yummy Couture! 🎀

Remember how I said my fondant cookies didn’t make the cut because they weren’t up to my standards? Well, I TAKE IT BACK! 😂🤣

Because apparently, my royal icing skills are MUCH worse! 💀🍪

I could lie and tell you Callie decorated the cookies on the bottom, but NOPE! Unfortunately, both sets were decorated by yours truly. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Here’s something interesting I realized about myself during this little experiment. When I was younger, I absolutely hated painting and blending in art class. I was never a fan of working with mediums that were difficult to control. And apparently, 30-something years later, NOTHING HAS CHANGED! 😂

Now it all makes sense why my fondant cookies (top) turned out so much better than my royal icing cookies (bottom). I prefer sculpting, shaping, and working with something I can actually control. Royal icing? That stuff has a mind of its own! 😩

The proof is literally in the cookies. LOL!

But hey, at least one good thing came out of this experiment! Callie and her friends were my official taste testers, and they all agreed that BOTH versions tasted yummy! ❤️

As for which one tasted better? We had a split decision!

🍪 Team Fondant: 2 votes

🍪 Team Royal Icing: 2 votes

So apparently, it’s a tie in the taste department… but definitely NOT in the decorating department! 🤣

Moral of the story? Just because you can bake it doesn’t mean you can decorate it. And sometimes you need to try something again just to remember why you stopped doing it in the first place! 😂 I’ll just stick to chocolate!

Now tell me, are you Team Fondant or Team Royal Icing? 👇💕

#fondantvsroyalicing #cookies #needatiebreaker #wouldyoutrythese by @shopyummycouture

Onto the next project… ROYAL ICING instead of fondant! 👻🎃

I can wholeheartedly say that right now, I feel like that skeleton in the background. 💀😂

I haven’t made royal icing from scratch in a REALLY long time, and man… now I remember why I stopped doing cookies. This was a ROYAL pain in the butt. Get it? 👑😂

And don’t mind my different sized piping bags! I only needed a little bit of certain colors, so we’re not wasting perfectly good icing over here. 😂

Between mixing all of these colors using color theory, washing all the dishes from the mess, filling bags, and getting the consistency right… my hand is officially CRAMPING. 😩

Mad respect to all the cookie artists out there who make beautifully decorated cookies look effortless, because IT IS NOT. 👏👏👏

There’s still a very good chance cookies will not be making it onto the Yummy Couture menu. 😂 But we’ve come this far, so now we have to see how they turn out…

Wish me luck. 💀🍪😂
