For a long time ive always been afraid if being my most authentic self. That part of me has always been creative, innovative, and none conforming. Lately im not giving a fuck and doing everything that comes to mind.

During our visit to Lomé last month, we made sure to stop by the American Corner at the University of Lomé. Over the past two years, we’ve built a strong relationship with the students, learning, listening, and growing together. It’s been incredible to see how we can make an impact by connecting with the youth.
We had an real and honest conversation about navigating life after graduation and the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. What made this visit even more special was that we got to celebrate Valentine’s Day with them and share some sweet treats!
We always look forward to building a better tomorrow with the youth and continuing to foster these connections.

From Lomé to Miami—this is what storytelling is all about. ✨ We had an incredible time creating these pieces with our artisans and bringing these powerful stories to life on stage. Inspired by spiritual deities, we conceptualized a look that blended various cultural influences: from Black churches, professional women, and traditional African prints to the South. It was truly an honor to collaborate with Carey Brianna Hart and the AHCAC to bring this production of Crowns to life.

Yesterday, while on our way to visit our artisans, we stumbled upon a school of weavers and had to stop by to see what was happening. Christine, who has been weaving for 13 years, recently opened a school where students spend about 2 years learning the craft. They focus on the Togolese style of Kente, which is linear, as opposed to the Ghanaian Kente, which is more geometric.

It’s always heartwarming to witness the preservation of such rich cultural traditions. We’re excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Christine and her talented team in the future.

Quilts have long been more than just beautiful pieces of art—they were an essential form of communication during the Underground Railroad, guiding freedom seekers toward safety and liberty. Each pattern held its own powerful message, offering direction, comfort, and hope on the difficult journey to freedom.

The Harlem Renaissance wasn’t just a cultural movement it was a revolution in art, music, literature, and fashion. Black men and women used fashion to express pride, sophistication, and defiance against the norms of the time. From Josephine Baker’s iconic costumes to the bold street style of Harlem, this era redefined Black identity and influenced generations to come. Let’s honor the legacy of those who used their creativity to pave the way for today’s cultural leaders.
