POSTS STORIES REELS

Mr. Jim Alexander. 91 years old yesterday, and still shooting.

He won his first camera in a dice game at Navy boot camp in 1952 and sold portraits to other sailors for fifty cents each. He went on to document the civil rights movement, the response to Dr. King’s assassination, and decades of Black life, jazz, and blues. Gordon Parks was a friend and a mentor. The Smithsonian holds his work.

I met him last year and made this frame. Grateful for it.

Happy birthday, sir. 📸

Some spaces hold more than people
- a glance
- a pause
- a connection waiting to happen

Grateful to @silver_diner for a place where moments quietly unfold.

Spaces like this remind us how easily lives intersect @livingwordsllc @dubaako

Every place carries a story
- a conversation
- a moment
- a connection

@silver_diner for a place where moments quietly unfold.

This vision began with @livingwordsllc and her heartfelt love letter concept. A shift in plans took us indoors, and we embraced it together. Big thanks to Silver Diner for sharing their space and helping bring it to life. In the end, love is a choice - one we make, over and over

🎥 Behind the Lens
A smooth session from start to finish—
We brought in a 3-camera FX3 setup with cinema lenses to frame the story just right:
• Wide main for the space
• Two tight angles for depth and character

Rearranged the set. Introduced light and audio. Prepped the talent.
And prayed in.

Not the lead shooter this time, but grateful to contribute to a powerful setup.

Through My Lens
Model Inc 19th Anniversary | Arena Stage, DC
Sunday, July 27, 2025
Captured by @shotby_robbydob
Role: Photographer & Visual Storyteller

Before the lights. Before the music. Before the walk.
There’s a moment where time slows—where nerves and vision collide.

I stood backstage, camera in hand, watching creators make final touches. Designers adjusting silhouettes. MUAs blending shadows. Models taking that one last breath.

This wasn’t just a show—it was a declaration.
A celebration of Black excellence, raw talent, and intentional style.

To everyone who created, walked, supported, and dreamed—thank you for letting me witness it through my lens.
