I AM BACK!!!

I have been gone for quite a while on this account and consequently haven’t picked my camera in a long time. That is until about a month ago.

I took a break from photography when I felt like I had done the work I wanted to, I didn’t want to force myself to find enjoyment in it, so I tried a new craft (ceramics). Recently I have been itching to make with both ceramics and photography, so that is exactly what I am doing.

I have started a very personal self portrait series that I won’t be sharing for a while but I would love to share parts of that process with you, as I have already made work that I am so proud of.

Thank you for reading, love you and I am so excited to be back on here 🧡 by @shotbyliberty

Mother big river is a song I have been listening to every single day in Japan. Before I left there was a huge shift in my family dynamic and it’s something I have been mulling over as I make.

This song makes me feel so deeply connected to what I left at home, and it allows me to feel all those tough emotions whilst in the studio.

Yesterday I really missed my mum and wanted to rest my head on her lap. So I put this song on and made something that could give me that feeling. by @shotbyliberty

Sadly a bunch of photos from this shoot got taken down but I am bringing this one back as I think it might be one of my favourite photos I’ve ever taken!

These got such a lovely response last time so please make sure you give this one the same love haha!

This photo along with one other of mine is being exhibited in @decode__gallery until the 5th November, so if you’re based in Tucson go take a look! by @shotbyliberty

Today I finished the sculpting, assembling and carving part of one of my final pieces. I feel really proud of this, it’s my most personal project yet.

The head acts as a lid to the sculpture and when I exhibit it I hope to have a candle inside as I want the small carvings to glow 🐥 by @shotbyliberty

My first ever photo dump! I have had a really nice December so far and I thought I would share it all in one post!!! I had the most amazing snowball fight, got featured on dazed digital, had my work exhibited in The Arts Depot and saw so many amazing friends 🤠

If you’re interested in visiting my work in the exhibition, it will be there through until February 🦕 by @shotbyliberty

This is one of my favourite shoots I have done so far! I have known Amber for about 6 years, so this shoot was honestly just a day full of catching up and hearing about one another’s lives, which was perfect 🧡 by @shotbyliberty

My first ever raku was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! by @shotbyliberty

This is my favourite piece I have made 🧡

This is probably my biggest and most favourite ceramic piece I have ever made! I used copper and wood ash to create the amazing texture and colours, alongside a clear crackle glaze 🌷
