POSTS STORIES REELS

Only went and married my ultimate dream babe and partner in crime @rebeccor_blimey at the weekend with a room full of top class camp humans at @pollokshawsburghhall.

Here’s a small selection of preview images from the ridiculously talented and super fun @sarahlouise.photo (with @stephnicol.photo as second shooter and bringer of the excellent vibes) and I can’t wait to see more of her stunning work when we get the full gallery through.

It was an absolute dream team of incredible people including flowers by @flowers_vermilion (more photos of these to come!!!), cake by @smutty_pickles and team, celebrant of queer dreams @tasha.the.celebrant, make up by @m_v_brown, hair by @carolinehairoutlaw, some jewellery pieces by @metalxbreathx, my gorgeous and silly people of honour and MC masters @karltaylor92 and Rosana Cade, karaoke hostess with the absolute mostess @queenofscots92, and so many of our friends helping with craft DIY, setting up and getting out the venue, child care and moral support over the last year or so. We are so lucky and full of love and I want to do it all again after a big long sleep. 💕💕💕

🦌6 weeks to go! 🦌

Join us for the world premiere of 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 by Hanna Tuulikki at Tramway, Glasgow.

📍 Tramway, T1 Theatre
📅 Saturday 28 November 2026
⏰ 7.30–9pm

⏰ Optional Open House 6.30pm–7.30pm where audience can witness the performers transforming into their characters

🎟️ Link in bio to buy a ticket!

Step into the world of 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿. See the theatre; hear the drum beat. Watch a quintet of womxn performers embody five hybrid characters, caught between wild-deer-ness and performed male-ness. Through costume, gesture, lip-sync, dance and song, they enact a round of tragicomedy.

Using ‘animal-drag’, 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 explores the stag as a symbol of masculinity, how ideas about gender and wilderness are projected onto nature, and how our treatment of animals and landscapes is bound up with the dynamics of power and dominance between human bodies. What happens when we turn these inherited myths inside out?

Exploring the interconnections between the crisis of ecology and the crisis of masculinity, 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 becomes an explicit contemporary life-crisis ritual for a damaged planet.

@sianbaxter regaled our @govanhillfestival audience with stories of growing up in Scunthorpe where the air has texture, the bingo is fiercely competitive, and family legends are built one dabber at a time.

For the Johnny fans: I was supposed to be selling these gorgeous A3 RISOGRAPH PRINTS at the end of each show but then I ended up having to tech the shows so I’ve set up a shop where you can buy your own I AM JOHNNY merch created by @stephparrr (sister of @tptissy), and I’ll post them out to you.

This way, if you didn’t make it to Edinburgh but still want to financially support the show you can! And get some gorgeous artwork in the process. All money will be going back into the show and will be incredibly helpful. Being a working class artist at the fringe feels more impossible than ever but that’s a blog for another day I reckon. You can also just donate a few quid on the page without buying a print if you feel like it!

We went camping and it was good. Full moon rituals, baby Swallows, bbqs on the beach in the rain, wild children, dips in the sea, zipping and unzipping on repeat, holy islands and belly laughs. by @sianbaxter

🔔 I am overjoyed to receive an Unlimited Large Open Award to make Folx! This is massive for me - having the support to realise this ensemble experimental neuroqueer choreographic ritual (!!!!) is a dream come true

🌞 I send HUGE thanks to the panel for trusting me & to all who have supported Folx to get here. Shout out to @clairecprojects, @hzt_berlin and @oespacodotempo whose support planted the seeds for this commission

🩷 Forever gratitude to @weareunltd, who have been fundamental to my development as an artist

🌀Folx will be produced by Siân Baxter, co-produced by Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm (@mousonturm) and supported by The Work Room (@the_work_room_dance), Dance Base (@dancebase), and Take Me Somewhere (@tmsomewhere), to premiere in the UK in Autumn 2027

♾️ This commission comes during our turbulent, divisive and uncertain present. Conflict, violence, and fear escalates - especially for marginalised and vulnerable communities. Structures that support disabled people (and their creative work) are actively being dismantled. Receiving the privilege of this award in this moment, it feels important to acknowledge this. Folx will be made in response to this climate, seeking a space for co-regulation, togetherness, and the life-giving nature of dance, song, and sensory experience

✨Folx is an Unlimited UK Open Award 2026 commission made possible thanks to funding from Creative Scotland

RIGHT YOU LOT! V long post re life and comedy and I guess a wrap up of my year/life recently:

You may or may not be aware that I've been dipping my abnormally large toes into the comedy/cabaret scene recently. Truth be told I set myself a promise in 2024 that I would do ONE stand up set that year - this was off the back of becoming a partner and parent in 1 go during a pandemic, then long covid taking over my life for 3 years, fundraising for some treatment for that (which some of you donated to) which legit changed my life, me my wife and child all getting diagnosed as neurodivergent and fabulous, and then trying to figure out WHO THE FUCK I AM after/with all of that.

To stick to my promise I (HEAVILY pushed by @rebeccor_blimey) did a comedy writing course at @arvon__ ran by @jlukeroberts and @slmorgo (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) which was another absolute game changer in my life. After this, excellent friend and human being @josielong kindly gave me a slot at her Josie Long and friends night at The Rum Shack last December where I debuted my feminist Christmas Elf routine in order to stick to my promise of 1 gig that year!

This year I quietly promised myself 6 gigs alongside casually getting married. I've currently done 4 gigs at
@queertheoryglasgow, @materialgirlcomedy, a birthday cabaret,
Full house Fridays at Platform and I have 2 more to go this week and next to ACHIEVE MY PROMISE WAHOOOO. Pics attached are taken by @dumivisuals from Queer Theory in February of my new character in development Top Shagger (aka the Roman God of Love).

My last 2 gigs of the year are at @opensaucecomedy Sunday 14th and Mesh's Festival Cabaret Friday 19th (they don't have socials but msg me for ticket link). I'll be bringing back my xmas elf to those 2.

All this to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has given me slots, came to watch, offered general support and taught me many things.

Next years goals: get some headshots/up to date photos, do some open slots at the fringe, more Glasgow gigging, MORE FUN TIMES. by @sianbaxter
