A Tribute To Our Mom👟🕊️💛

POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi 👋🏾! I’m Mordecai the old head of the Austrie siblings, laying his first contribution to this sneaker page! I honestly had considered myself “retired” from the sneaker collection thing. Having college aged kids can do that to you. But this collaboration (which was the brainchild of our sister) represents much more than what the IG page states. It will, on the surface, show you our individual tastes in sneakers, it may show you some style, with some funny quotes and some music to add to your playlist. Digging deeper, it allows us sibling draw closer to each other. Serving as an aid to help cope with the huge void we attained when we lost our mother on July 5th. Through our grief, we hope that this IG page can assist anyone who is trying to process loss. We are far from therapists, but there is a comfort (even in the slightest) that there may be people out there that are going through something similar. With that being said, these are the Nike Coraline Dunk Highs. The movie Coraline is my immediate family’s favorite and the aesthetic hits well with the Halloween season. “Coraline” has an ongoing theme of the “other mother”. In short, Coraline learned to recognize what she had in her real mother and fought hard to get her back when she realized she was gone. I would put up a long fight to get our mom back!!! I miss my mother more than words can explain, but I find comfort knowing that she’s not suffering anymore. We know she’s somewhere dancing in style, and it even feels like she’s still around. I Love you @maustrie #coraline #coralinedunkhigh by @sibzinkicks

👟 Adidas Tokyo Deer print/Pink (WMNS).

🦌 I’m a woman who loves animal print clothing so when I came across these deer print Adidas sneakers with pink stripes from @asos, I had to purchase them RIGHT AWAY along with this deer print pillbox hat. I’m a stylista who loves to express my sense of style in unique ways.

💛 My love for sneakers comes from big bro @mordecai718 and my love for style comes from my mom. She was the Queen of style in her heyday. She made sure to dress to the 9️⃣s, and took pride in her appearance. Growing up, I admired that about her so much that it eventually became a part of who I am as an adult. I can proudly say that that part of my mom still lives through me.

👟 The Jordan 6 Retro Infrared 2019 Release

My favorite J if I had to choose one, and I’m pretty sure it’s because these shoes remind me of my childhood. I’ve been in a crazy nostalgia kick these last few months; I haven’t bought Jordans in over 15 years!!
•••
But I’m holding onto what I loved when I was younger, and how my Mom was paramountly interconnected with my childhood. For me, there is no childhood without her in it 💛💛 #InMyHeart ♾️

I recall owning a pair of these when we lived in New York, though I was way too young to remember some of the heat my brother @mordecai718 got me. But now as adults with the means to dress ourselves however we want, having a fly set of parents made it simple in finding inspiration for our own individuality.

S/O to big sis @stylewithdna for capturing these 📸

💛We are the Austrie Siblings, representing Brooklyn, New York🗽with lineage from Dominica🇩🇲 Welcome to our sibling-run sneaker page @sibzinkicks, where we will each share our love for sneakers and style with monthly inspirational posts.

💛This love for sneakers derived from the eldest sibling, @mordecai718 back in Brooklyn, New York where we grew up in the 1990s. He would deck the whole family out in the flyest kicks. What better way to continue that love for sneakers than for us to collaboratively start our own sneaker-head page.

💛So hit that like and share button. Tell a friend to tell a friend to follow us. Thank You All For The Support🙏🏽

💛This page is a tribute and dedication to the loving memory of our mother, Martha who recently passed away due to her long and extremely difficult battle with cancer. She would’ve celebrated her 70th birthday today, October 1st.

💛We love and miss you so much, Mom. You will be in our hearts Forever and Ever. Happy Heavenly Birthday🕊️💛
