POSTS STORIES REELS

Just your average bride & groom pulling up to their Halifax reception by boat 🚤✨ The amount of joy these two radiated on this day was above and beyond. I had so much fun capturing these memories for @sophkovy & @benkovy .

In awe of the amazing vendor team that helped bring this day to life!

INTRODUCING THE MEAHAN’S 🍂

@sarahsmith.1 & @aaronmeahan ‘s wedding at @cideryat51 was the dreamiest fall day; golden light, cozy vibes, and so much love in the air. Every single detail had Sarah’s creative and thoughtful touch, from the florals to the signage to the tiniest moments in between, everything was so SO beautiful.

It was such a treat getting to capture everything alongside an absolute dream team with @stefclairephotography behind the camera and @bamboo.creativemedia filming every second. It felt effortless working together, like one big creative bubble of joy.

Sarah and Aaron made our day easy… the most beautiful bride and groom inside and out. What a day watching two dear friends tie the knot 🥹🥂

Heyooooo I’m Jill ⚡️

I thought it was about time I shared an introduction about who the heck is behind the Sidecar name. Damn… here goes nothing!!!

Ever since I was little, I’ve had a camera in my hands - iPhone, my mom’s Canon, a Polaroid toy, a home video camera… truly anything with a lens. Early on in my life I was also crowned the go-to friend for capturing everything (when you have a group of 13 childhood pals, this is no small feat) whether it was awkward self-timer group selfies or big life milestones I was always there to snap, edit (usually in Picnik IYKYK) and share to one of my many Facebook albums. THAT love of storytelling is what finally turned into Sidecar Social & Content. Sidecar is really just me doing what I love, how fkn awesome is that.

By day, I work in marketing and branding, which keeps teaching me just how powerful a good story can be. I also used to be a wedding photographer… and honestly? There’s nothing quite like capturing people’s biggest, most meaningful moments.

JUST FOR FUN here are some random facts about me that mean literally nothing to my business (or have anything to do with why you should work with me):
💡I’m approaching 30 years old but still feel like I’m 12, which is weird ?!
💛 Yellow is my favorite color (if you couldn’t already tell).
🥔 Salt & vinegar chips are my weakness (the burnier, the better — Miss Vickie’s or die 🫡).
🤬 I love dropping a well timed f bomb. Sorry, Mom.
😌 I laugh at my own jokes, probably more than I should.
🐶 I love dogs so much, sometimes I look at mine and feel like my heart will explode - so dramatic but so real.
👾 I’m currently addicted to Stardew Valley (gamer girls are cool right?!).
🌊 The ocean makes me feel at home.
🪩 I’m a Swiftie, big Swiftie. Sue me.

If you know anyone getting married or looking to create content, I’d love for you to consider Sidecar 🛞 If you’re feeling funky and fun , tell me about your favourite snack in the comments (this is no judgement zone).

SO THANKFUL TO THE FOLLOWING FOLKS FOR MAKING MY SKY FEEL LIKE OPALITE 🌌

Sidecar is taking a little maternity leave ☁️

As I get ready to welcome our first baby, I’ll be stepping back from Sidecar for the next few months to soak up this very special season with my family.

A huge thank you in advance for your patience with slower replies and response times while I’m away. I’ll still be popping into my inbox here and there, but baby snuggles will be taking priority for a little while. 🥹

To all of my couples, thank you for supporting this little business and allowing me to capture so many of your biggest moments. Sidecar will be back in action before we know it, and I already can’t wait for everything that’s ahead.

See you on the other side, with a new little sidekick in tow. ✨ by @sidecarcontent

@caitngrogan + @sammypalmer2 ❤️

Where do I even begin? Yesterday was truly amazing. I can’t believe how lucky I’ve been all season to work with the most incredible couples, and what a special way to wrap up my wedding year and kick-start my “content” maternity leave. 🥹

Travelling back to Rothesay, where I called home for the past five years, to celebrate these two felt extra special.

Sam and Cait are the kind of couple whose love you can feel is completely authentic. There was a brief moment after their first look when the creative team stepped away and gave them a few minutes of privacy. As a bit of a wallflower, I quietly watched from a distance, and you could just see the love, excitement, and pure joy they shared in that moment. It was such a beautiful thing to witness.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sam and Cait, for letting me be part of such a special day. ❤️

I actually can’t watch this without sobbing. My stunning bestie bride, @saripley . The most beautiful person inside and out, and on this day, she truly took our breath away.

What a privilege it was to stand beside you and watch you marry the love of your life. A day I’ll never, ever get over.

90 seconds of a day I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Lindsay & Cole met while studying in Ireland (I mean… come on 😭) and getting to hear their story and then witness the love between them throughout their wedding day was so memorable. Truly two of the most genuine, beautiful people I’ve ever had the pleasure of capturing.

And the DETAILS. The florals, Lindsay’s dad’s vintage car, every thoughtful little touch, everything was absolutely stunning.

To top it all off, I got to work alongside an absolute dream team, including my own wedding photographer, @rebeccafrank.co , who I have looked up to for so long. Such a full-circle moment for me.

One of those wedding days that just had something about it. CHEERS TO FOREVER BABES 🤍

And yes… preggers made it through the day 😂🤰🏼 We’re still going strong over here!!!

A little Sidecar life update!

For those of you who follow along on my personal account, you may have already seen the news, but I wanted to make it official over here too.

My husband and I are officially Haligonians! 🥹 After six beautiful years in New Brunswick, we knew it was time to make the move back to my home of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and we’re so excited to be here.

I’ve been lucky enough to capture weddings across Nova Scotia since starting Sidecar, so having Halifax as my new home base feels like such a natural next chapter, and will mean a few less veryyyy long drives to some of the beautiful venues I find myself at throughout the season. 😂

And for any New Brunswick + PEI couples: I’m not going anywhere! Sidecar will absolutely continue to travel throughout the Maritimes for weddings and events. The only difference is that now my suitcase now officially calls Nova Scotia home.

Six years in New Brunswick gave us so much to be grateful for, but it also feels incredibly special to be back home.

Here’s to @sidecarcontent’s Halifax era! 🥂🌊 by @sidecarcontent

the dress, the ocean, the moment.

the beautiful @rebecca_horne_ 💟 by @sidecarcontent

Well I was basically a puddle yesterday 😭 Wish I could blame it on the pregnancy hormones… but I think this one just hit so close to home.

I spent so much time during my younger days in the Manovill house that listening to the speeches felt like reliving pieces of my own childhood. Every story brought back endless memories and many moments that shaped who we became.

Getting to spend the day beside one of my very best friends - not just as a guest, but quietly capturing these moments during her special day means a lot. It was such a nice reminder of just how lucky I am to have lifelong friends like the Manovills, who have always felt like family.

Em, you were the most beautiful bride. Watching you marry Jake was literally THE BEST, and I’m so incredibly thankful that our lives have grown up side by side.
