POSTS STORIES REELS

Every van used to carry a little book 📖

When Siesta started, every camper had one, a small notebook tucked inside for whoever came next. Customers would leave notes for strangers: tips for hidden beaches, favourite spots, honest warnings, hand-drawn maps, comics, stories from the road.

Recently we sat down and read some of them. What we found was incredible, some places mentioned no longer exist, some notes made us laugh, some made us stop and read twice 😅

It made us wonder: should we bring them back?

Would you leave a note for the next person?

Tonight, the season turns 🌾

Samhain marks the end of the harvest, the moment the year begins to fold inward.

Shorter days, longer fires, and something in the air that asks you to slow down even more.

To every trip taken this summer,

every road that surprised you,

every morning with a view worth waking up for

thank you.

Here’s to the quieter season ahead 🧡

Porto’s coastline just woke up 🏄

The North Atlantic is delivering consistent swells and the lineup is still quiet. This is when northern Portugal surf season hits its stride, and with a van, you follow the conditions.

There’s room inside for your longboard in our motorhomes, and exterior shower included in our campers.

Here are our favourite spots near Porto:

📍 Matosinhos — Most accessible city break
📍 Leça da Palmeira — Powerful and consistent
📍 Angeiras — Easy peaks & local feel
📍 Azurara — A vanlife favourite
📍 Aguda — Quiet and relaxed sessions
📍 Espinho — Heavy, world-class waves
📍 Esmoriz — Consistent A-frames

Is this a T1.5 Kombi? 👀

Our 1976 T2 Kombi Clipper: unlike anything else you’ll find in Portugal.
When VW Brazil had to meet new safety standards, they didn’t retool. They grafted a later front end onto a 1964 split screen body.

We’ve turned her into a camper. And she’s for sale.

If you’re interested, give us a shout 👇

Autumn in northern Spain looks like this ⬆️

Most people think of Spain and picture the south. But the north is a different country entirely, green valleys, dramatic coastline, medieval villages, and forests that go gold in October. One of Europe’s most underrated corners, and somehow still quietly waiting to be discovered.

The kind of place where you park the van, step outside, and wonder why it took you this long to come.

Save this for your next autumn road trip!

Lisbon to Porto in 7 days: done the slow way 🇵🇹

Most people drive this in one go. We’d take a week. Sintra, Nazaré, Aveiro, the Douro Valley, the kind of stops that turn a drive into a trip worth remembering.

Day 1: Lisbon → Sintra → Cascais — Palaces, pines & ocean views
Day 2: Sintra → Óbidos — Surf towns & storybook streets
Day 3: Óbidos → Nazaré — Big waves & ocean legends
Day 4: Nazaré → Coimbra — Ancient universities & river walks
Day 5: Coimbra → Aveiro — Canals & striped houses
Day 6: Aveiro → Paiva Walkways → Douro Valley — Forest hikes & wine country
Day 7: Douro Valley → Porto — The grand finale

🍂 Autumn light, quieter roads, golden vineyards. There’s no better season for this one.

Living the best life with these two little cuties ❤️

A 1970 VW T2, the most special van in our fleet 🤍

Built for a US serviceman stationed in Germany, she travelled through South Africa’s game parks before finding her way to Portugal.

We found her under a tarp in someone’s garden, completely original, never welded. Every document from new, including the original sales receipt! 🤯

This is Martha’s van tour

56 years old. Every handle, dial and switch still original, and still working 🤍

Can you guess who she is?
Her full van tour is coming soon.

October just became our favourite month 🍂

The beaches are empty, the roads are quiet, and Portugal and Spain are still warm enough to make you wonder why everyone left.

Swipe through for 5 things that only work this time of the year, in a van, obviously 😏

Looking for the best beach towns in Portugal? 🌊

Not the crowded spots. The places where the fishing fleet still goes out at dawn, the cobbled square fills up in the evening, and arriving by van feels like exactly the right way to turn up.

These are some of our favourites:

📍 Costa Nova – Striped houses, wild Atlantic sand & lagoon sunsets
📍 Nazaré – Big waves and an old fishing soul
📍 São Martinho do Porto – A shell-shaped bay with mirror-flat water
📍 Peniche & Baleal – A surf peninsula with world-class breaks
📍 Ericeira – Europe's first World Surfing Reserve
📍 Sesimbra – Turquoise Arrábida coves south of Lisbon
📍 Porto Covo – Whitewashed village on the wild Alentejo coast
📍 Vila Nova de Milfontes – Where the river meets the sea
📍 Zambujeira do Mar – Cliffs, surf and open sky
📍 Sagres – The end of the known world
