Brettchenweben/Tablet Weaving
It's a hobby, I don't sell woven bands.
Aber Anleitungen/ Only patterns.

POSTS STORIES REELS

Because I was asked: A look at the table of contents. And yes, the first 15 bands are quite simple and woven as threaded in with simple changes in the turning direktion.
Deutschland / Europ:
https://www.amazon.de/tablet-woven-bands.../dp/3910324126 oder die Buchhandlung deines Vertrauens.
And sorry, I don't have anymore a source for international shipping. Unfortunately, the dealer I previously recommended has become unreliable.

Edit:
ALL BOOKS SOLD OUTSIDE GERMANY ARE BLACK AND WHITE ONLY

Fibeln: P51
Trägerkleid: handgewebter Wollstoff mit Seidenbesatz und Trägern. Kleid: Wolle.
Photo shoot with @rene_auriel. And I'm very happy with how well he captured me in the scene.
So many beautiful pictures came out, I can't really decide.
Here are a few pictures that show my whole outfit.
Viking Age, Birka, inspired by Tomb 824, with all the tablet-woven bands.
Exception: the headdress is from a find in Dublin.
Shouldercloth: silk (double dyed indigo / reseda) with wool lining and decorated with brettchen braid.
Fibulae: P51
Strap dress: handwoven wool fabric with silk trim and straps.
Dress: wool

Broschieren auf Speed 😇 by @silvia_aisling

I love autumn! 🍂 Colourful leaves, cosy days on the couch – and more time for weaving! 🍁😃

This band is currently on my loom. The inspiration is a tablet-woven band from Mamasa, posted last week by @keiko_kusakabe_textilearts.

Reconstruction of a band from Hochdorf (530/520 BC) – 59 tablets

Anyone interested in Iron Age bands will probably be familiar with the drawing made by Mr Hundt during the excavation itself. I reconstructed the pattern many years ago.

Until now, I had never published the instructions. Partly because it took me a very long time to reconstruct the pattern, and partly because one of the motifs had always made me uncomfortable. I have now adapted this motif, and the instruction booklet is finally available for purchase.

As this is a pattern where getting the warping right is particularly important, and the correct starting position cannot simply be adjusted by turning the tablets, I have also created the instructions in the Twisted Threads format.

The booklet is 18 pages long and includes information about the grave and the band, as well as practical tips and tricks for weaving.

You can purchase the instructions as PDF in my Etsy shop:

Rekonstruktion einer Borte aus Hochdorf (530/520 v. Chr.) – 59 Brettchen

Sometimes I get inspired.

This meander pattern is based on a Celtic sword scabbard from Hallstatt. It inspired me to create this tablet-woven band in the Sulawesi style.

The pattern instructions are available from Twisted Threads.

50 Brettchen in Missed Hole Technik.

I have a feeling I’ll actually be able to finish this UFO (Unfinished Object) this year after all.
The tablet-weaving is inspired by a historic band from Hofdi, Iceland.

When your friend films you doing crafts on a short vacation.
I think you can tell that I still really enjoy card weaving.

Borten - schon lange gewebt, nie ordentlich auf meiner Homepage veröffentlicht.
Hier eine Brettchengewebte Borte, Vorlage ist ein isländisches Doppelgewebe. Mehr Informationen dazu auf meiner Homepage www.aisling.biz im Bereich Doubleface

Bands – woven a long time ago, but never properly published on my website.

Ich mag diese ganz einfachen brettchengewebten Borten. 😊

I love weaving simple tablet-woven bands. 😊

Here I’m weaving a very simple pattern based on a 10th-century find from Coppergate.

The original was woven with silk and linen yarn and was only 0.6 cm wide. My version is exactly the same width!

The last historical section is now finished: tablet-woven bands from the Modern Era.

It’s still a pretty small section, but that will change. I already have quite a few simple bands in mind that I can weave and add.

I’ve also made instructions for some of the patterns on Twisted Threads, like this belt from Macedonia.
