Dear Thirty…🦋 by @simonaay_
In September 2024 I found out that I had a 9in cyst on my ovary (which made me look 6 months pregnant.) After months of carrying, it was finally removed on 11/19. The surgery was successful and I was recovering well, considering. It wasn’t until the pathology results came in a couple weeks later that I found out what I was actually carrying. FUCKING CANCER. The cyst was literally covered in cancer, “involving almost every section of the cyst wall.” Here I am, 4 months shy of 30, being told I have a rare ovarian cancer that affects 1 in 100,000 women, that I have to have another surgery ASAP, and that I may or may not need radiation. When I was finally able to catch my breath, I was reminded of a word God gave me on June 25, 2024 — “You are covered.” Although cancer was covering the cyst, God was covering me. His love carried me through, even when my faith was too weak to believe for physical healing and when I couldn’t see beyond the facts, my fears and anxieties. Today, as I enter my last month of 29, I proudly share that I am CANCER FREE 🦋 No radiation, just by the grace of God! I am believing that the cancer I faced this year, I will NEVER see again. And that’s on GOD. May this testimony be a reminder that even in your storm, God is covering you. No matter what you are facing, healing, beauty, and joy is on the other side. by @simonaay_
