My first @culturecon was a learning experience as an archivist, business creative, and experiential activation designer.

I loved the fashion the first day. Truly avant garde. I appreciated the changes that they made Day 2 in regard to signage. I enjoyed the Creative Business stage, and the skills that I acquired. And Mayor Mamdani was such a charismatic speaker. Here’s to all the wonderful connections I made 😊✨ Can’t wait to push more anthropological art 🖼️

Here’s a quick art installation that was done for @thestreetwearexpo yesterday! No backdrop stand? No problem! Used some PVC pipes laying around and some connectors and clipped this backdrop with some clamps.

Made this backdrop last year for the @_socialflowers shoot.
Cut up some jeans from Forman Mills that were $5 each on site and sourced these tires and painted them the day before for the indoor Photo Booth setup 🤞🏽

In Our Mother’s Steps
Shibi Moon, 2026
Mixed media (acrylic paint, cotton fabric, and newspaper), 8 x 10 inches

In Our Mother’s Steps examines intergenerational inheritance across maternal lineages. Moon uses acrylic paint to depict cash and slave crops throughout the diaspora such as; sugar cane, cotton, indigo, tobacco, rice, and coffee. Layering the acrylic paint on top of the Ankara cotton fabrics, Shibi Moon shapes the identity of these Black women holding sledgehammers. The top and bottom woman are cut off to depict the infiniteness of the stairway. Newspaper fragments are taken from obituaries recycled from “A Seat at the Table” for the generational steps. The surrounding clouds mimic the “Stairway to Heaven” to depict the ascendance of each generation.

Despite its intimate scale, the work encourages viewers to consider how familial traditions, resilience, and identity are carried forward and inherited. The piece is meant to be an intergenerational reflection on maternal legacy.

Back with some more art direction and spatial design for @kingkahlih birthday shoot!

This was a special piece because it’s cemented in beautiful storytelling. Using elements from the Renaissance era and the angelcore aesthetic, we created a story of a guardian angel pearing through the sky who sees a brooding man, one lost in sin, who she lifts up to a place unfamiliar to him. He’s confused and stunned. She aids him and lifts him up. He too grows his own wings, more the man he was then before. An enchanting beauty and a man more known of his worth.

Story crafting is very important, and I strive on intentionality. So grateful and blessed to bring this to fruition. Biggest shoutout to my mother for helping me fix the design specs on the platform. I love building and fabricating props. Another shoutout to @stiggography for the space and helping. Definitely check out his studio.

And most love of course to the team @kingkahlih @extrakach
