Bad weather week, had to turn to an older late october image.

Last Thursday was a great aurora night, but also a warm night, suitable for hiking.

Jægersborg Dyrehave, red deers ("hjort") and European fallow deer ("dådyr"). The European fallow deer was introduced in Denmark before 1200, probably during the Viking age. Measuring about 100 kg, it is substantially smaller than the red deer. Jægersborg has the largest number in Denmark - about 1800. It's the original "Bambi".

Last night was colorful - reached a KP-index of 7. Moreover, the Delta Aurigids meteor shower was peaking. One of the most colorful nights I have experienced - but only through the lens. Most of the colors were not visible to the human eye - it looked mostly dull green. Saw cars relocating during the peak.

Jægersborg Dyrehave, north of Copenhagen, is the most visited natural area in Denmark. The park’s main attraction is its 2,000 deer, which walk freely around in the around 11 km2 (4.2 sq mi). In autumn the rutting season makes plenty of drama, as the stags compete over the harems. The young stags stash themselves with vegetation to increase the size of their antlers..

My first round of aurora this season on Friday night. Not one of the best nights, but lasted for several hours. #nordlys #nordlyset

Autumn has arrived and the rowan trees look particularly beautiful in moody weather.

Autumn is here - from last week. Alpine bearberry ("rypebær"/arctous alpina) in the mountain.

Moody weather, streams from the mountains and still very green. But autumn is just around the corner with colored trees and the first aurora last Friday night.

A grey heron fishing at Prestvannet in Tromsø. Sitting still for a long time, suddenly diving down into water to catch it's dinner.

Northern Norway has a lot of larger and smaller islands worth exploring. I spent a summer night exploring this hidden gem meeting more animals and birds than people.

Steindalsbreen is Lyngenfjords most accessible glacier. It's an easy 18 km walk, which gets longer every year as the glascier diminishes.
