World Water Week 2026 closed its Water and Communications series with one question: how do we put water at the centre of media and public dialogue?

"We should find the water story in every story." - Andrea Norgren

Data centres, food, energy, climate. The sessions looked at how water runs through all of them, and how communicators can make that connection visible before a crisis forces it.

As we look ahead to 2027. What do you think the series should cover next? Share your ideas in the comments. 👇

Convened by the Government of the Netherlands the Water in Business sessions at World Water Week 2026 brought together perspectives from business, policy and international organisations to explore how companies and governments are responding to increasing water uncertainty. 📈

As Ylva Veldhuis put it: “The next phase is about moving from commitments to collective action, because shared water risks demand shared responsibility.”
