.
A key objective of the project was to balance the diverse functional requirements of educational, administrative, and public spaces with a consistent architectural expression. Although different programmatic zones required varying spatial and environmental responses, they were unified through a common formal language.

.
The design process began with a critical review of the existing architectural volumes. While preserving the fundamental spatial organization of the original scheme, the intention was to simplify the buildings and eliminate unnecessary formal gestures and decorative elements. Rather than relying on superficial architectural features, the project sought to establish a clear architectural language based on proportion, spatial clarity, and volumetric integrity.

The Complementary Girls Faculty projects at the University of Qom were developed as part of a comprehensive design development process aimed at redefining the architectural identity and enhancing the overall quality of the educational building. While the Phase One architectural documents had already been prepared, the project focused on the refinement of massing, façade development, architectural detailing, and the preparation of the complete Phase Two construction documents.

.
The hotel is organized around a central courtyard that serves as the spatial core of the project, establishing visual and spatial connections between floors.
Combined with the simple and unified exterior volume, this introverted configuration creates a contrast between the clarity of the urban façade and the spatial character of the interior, making the courtyard the defining element of the hotel’s internal experience.

Three arch-like forms with hyperbolic geometries extend through the building envelope and into the interior. Defining the main entrance, the café void, and the staff entrance, these elements establish connections between the urban context and the central courtyard.
Evoking the spatial configuration of traditional passages, these interconnected forms reinterpret the arch as a geometric and spatial device that connects contemporary architectural expression with the historic context of Qom.

Located within the historic urban fabric of Qom, near the Shrine of Fatima Masumeh, this project responds to its significant religious and historical context through a contemporary architectural approach.
The name Gozar, meaning passage, refers to the project’s location in the historic Gozar-e Qaleh neighborhood and echoes the interconnected arch-like forms that recall traditional passages and connect the urban context with the building’s interior.
Comprising five floors above the ground floor and one basement level, the hotel combines a simple, minimalist exterior with an introverted spatial organization, establishing a relationship between contemporary architecture and the historic identity of its surroundings.

Okht Al-Reza Hotel seeks to establish a dialogue between contemporary architecture and the cultural memory of Karbala. Through the reinterpretation of architectural archetypes such as the iwan, riwaq, and karbandi, the project offers a contemporary expression rooted in place, identity, and collective experience.

.
At the lower levels, a new geometric framework was introduced to organize the fragmented conditions of the existing façade. This underlying order establishes a coherent architectural language capable of connecting the entrance zone, viewing terraces, accommodation levels, and rooftop spaces into a unified composition.
The formal identity of the project emerges from a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Iranian and Islamic karbandi geometries. Rather than replicating historical ornamentation, the design abstracts and simplifies these spatial patterns, transforming them into a structural and visual system suited to contemporary construction methods and the scale of a high-rise building.

.
Located along one of the principal routes leading to the Shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), Okht Al-Reza Hotel benefits from a unique visual relationship with one of the most significant landmarks of the city. This latent potential, largely overlooked in the original scheme, became the primary driver of the façade redesign.
The project is centered on the creation of a sequence of collective and individual viewing spaces. Two elevated loggias are carved into the building mass, reinterpreting the spatial role of the traditional iwan and riwaq within a contemporary high-rise context. Beyond framing privileged views toward the shrine, these voids articulate the façade composition, break down the scale of the tower, and introduce a more balanced and humanized proportion to the overall volume.
