These past few weeks have been extremely heavy. We are late sharing the total of support distributed in August through our community defense funds, but we think is important to still share.

Sending commissary funds takes lots of labor from amazing volunteers 💕❤️

Unfortunately, the Tacoma detention center limits the frequency of how often an individual card can make deposits.

Sometimes the concentration camp only allows 1-2 deposits per card each week. The concentration camp also limits the amount of money an individual card sends each week. This means that even if we had $500 to distribute to detained loved ones in one day we would NOT be able to deposit to more than 2 people each week if we only have one debit card.

We are only able to make hundreds of deposits thanks to our amazing volunteers who make the deposits and get reimbursed from our community defense fund.

The system makes it impossible for us to help our loved ones but we always find a way😭

“Hey family and friends, I’m reaching out because I need to undergo dental surgery—I have to have 7 teeth removed. It’s scheduled for next month, and I’m struggling to keep up with my bills. I’ve been in so much pain lately that I haven’t been able to go to work, which has made it impossible to cover these costs.”

One of o ur beloved community members passed away recently and his family are raising funds to transport his remains back to his home town of Oaxaca so that his family and loved ones can mourn him there. Any amount helps toward their goal ❤️

Help Nicholas During This Difficult Time ❤️

For more than 25 years, Nicholas has worked hard in the United States, building his life through dedication and perseverance. In June, his life changed unexpectedly when he was detained by ICE while at Home Depot. Since then, he has been facing difficult mental and physical challenges while navigating an uncertain future.

Despite his own struggles, Nicholas continues to be a source of support for his community.
Now, we can show up for him the way he has shown up for others. We are raising funds to help with legal expenses, immigration proceedings, and essential needs during this challenging time.
