POSTS STORIES REELS

I FINALLY got around to starting my Learn Dermatology YouTube channel! It’s “SkinDocTalk!” There will be self-test quizzes throughout the video so keep watch for that! I’m going to try to mirror the American Academy of Dermatology learning modules to make it as comprehensive as possible, so it will start out very basic and then get more and more advanced. As much as I love complex medical Dermatology and guidelines for cutaneous milling management, it’s best to start at the basic so that we don’t lose anyone to the details! I’m hoping that I can do one YouTube video a week and I will certainly be taking requests and feedback! Luckily there is no annoying flute music in the actual YouTube videos LMFAO And I hope you can listen to it on double speed to go fast, almost like a podcast, to be as efficient as possible. I do want to use pictures and kodachromes, but I have to be very careful because of copyright rules, along with censorship of graphic and sensitive information. So I’ll figure that out as I go along!

If only you knew our stories.

The cancers we removed from patients over the years side by side, the diseases we’ve diagnosed, the hours spent trying to get insurances to approve medications for patients, the urgent medical cases we pushed through to get the multidisciplinary care that the patients needed. All care, no matter how difficult, rendered with empathy and the biggest smile. The laughs we have had, and the painful moments we endured together.

My daughters (who so happen to work as my medical assistants 😜) mashallah (may God always protect them and their healing hands 🧿🪬) are some of the most incredible women I have ever met. There is such a difference between showing up to work and doing your job, and truly treating patients. They have always given it their all. To be able to work THAT hard and care THAT deeply, and that consistently… such healing blessings in this world. May that fire never go out.

To my Pauliti, my Edipoo, and my KiKi — thank you for loving me and the patients we take care of every single day. I don’t feel like I’m working when I’m with you 3, because it feels like home to me.

I love these family photos of ours, and I am getting them framed.

When @sunbum and @skincancerorg teamed up to get @dr.derm.love and me a mobile dermatology clinic bus, we saw about 110 patients over 2 days and did skin cancer screening exams for all of them!!!! Baby we WERKED 🏃🏽‍♀️💨

We found several suspicious spots concerning for melanoma and other skin cancers, provided patient education, helped get them into dermatology clinics, and had a blast doing it all!

A huge thank you to Sun Bum and The Skin Cancer Foundation for sponsoring this event!!!!! YAY FREE HEALTHCARE!!!

When I do skin cancer screenings for my patients, I’m not only looking for skin cancer — I’m also on the lookout for cutaneous signs of breast cancer!!! I have so many patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond who are warriors in the breast cancer battle! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so I celebrate them all month 💗🫂

Let’s talk about breast cancer signs that can show up on the skin! New dimpling, an orange-peel texture, persistent redness or swelling, or a scaly, crusty rash on one nipple.

These changes don’t automatically mean cancer, but they deserve attention! You don’t need to feel a lump to speak up, and you’re never “bothering” your doctor by asking about something new!

Get familiar with what’s normal for you, keep up with your recommended screening, and have new or persistent changes evaluated.

To everyone navigating a diagnosis, celebrating survivorship, or loving someone through it: you are seen, and you are supported 💕

My breast cancer warrior hero is @estherdermpa 💗 She is a young, new mommy and a brilliant dermatology PA who is sharing her breast cancer journey for other women to relate to and learn from. I’m so amazed by her resilience and wanted to share in case you are looking for support and guidance! Always praying for you, Esther 💗🫂

One of my favorite things to do in my free time is participate in charity events and serve my community! And as a dermatologist that means………. Free skin cancer screenings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m so excited to be teaming up with Sun Bum @sunbum as their official dermatologist and the Skin Cancer Foundation @skincancerorg to offer free skin cancer screenings this week in Encinitas, San Diego! WE HAVE A BUS WITH AC!!!!!!!!! And the beach is like 2 blocks away!!!!!

You’ll find me on the screening bus doing skin checks and taking a look at spots you might have questions about! It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn what to look out for, find out if something needs a closer look, and get to know your skin a little better!

I feel so lucky to be part of this and to spend time doing something I love, with people who care so much. Come say hi ☀️ I’d love to see you!
