POSTS STORIES REELS

Let’s talk about acne cleansers. Because choosing the wrong one can make your skincare routine unnecessarily complicated.

Here are four mistakes to avoid:

1. Choosing the strongest cleanser available.

A stronger formula doesn’t automatically mean better results. Your skin’s tolerance matters.

2. Using too many exfoliating cleansers.

Combining multiple active cleansers without considering their ingredients and frequency of use can increase irritation.

3. Expecting your cleanser to solve every acne concern.

A cleanser is just one step in your skincare routine. Some acne concerns require additional treatments.

4. Skipping moisturiser and sunscreen.

Acne-prone skin still needs hydration and daily sun protection.

At Skin Guia, we believe in evidence over trends and skincare that makes sense for your skin.

Dealing with acne? Let’s talk about benzoyl peroxide.

PanOxyl 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Creamy Wash is an acne-focused cleanser formulated with 4% benzoyl peroxide.

Benzoyl peroxide is a well-established acne-fighting ingredient that helps reduce acne-causing bacteria.

A few things to remember:
• Introduce gradually.
• Follow the product directions.
• Be mindful of dryness and irritation.
• It can bleach towels and fabrics.

Ask a Pharmacist: Burning or unusual irritation is not something you need to push through. Stop the suspected product,
simplify your routine and seek medical advice for severe or persistent symptoms. Avoid layering more actives to try to fix
the reaction. Skin care should be intentional not painful.

SG RECOMMENDS 🤎 | LOTION OR CREAM?

Does your skin need a lotion or a cream? It depends on your skin’s needs, the area you’re moisturising and the feel you prefer.

A lotion is often lighter, while a cream is often richer—but the formula matters more than the label alone.

Here are two ILLIYOON options at Skin Guia:

🧴 ILLIYOON Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream
150 ml — ₦14,500

🧴 ILLIYOON Ceramide Ato Lotion bundle
600 ml — ₦32,500

The lotion price is for the full bundle, including the free 128 ml product.

Remember: consistent moisturising and a routine that suits your skin are more useful than adding products just because they’re trending.

Not sure which option to consider? DM Skin Guia to confirm stock and ask about your moisturising routine.

Body breakouts, rough bumps and uneven body texture can be frustrating—but choosing a body wash doesn’t have to be complicated. 🧴

Here are three options to explore, depending on your main concern:

✨ Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA Acne Clear Body Cleanser — an option for acne-prone body skin.

✨ Cetaphil Acne Relief Body Wash — features 2% salicylic acid.

✨ Naturium The Smoother Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash — an AHA-focused option for rough or uneven texture.

These products don’t do exactly the same thing, and you don’t need to use all three. Start with one that fits your concern, follow its directions, and pay attention to how your skin responds.

Not sure which one to choose? DM “BODY ACNE” and let’s help you narrow it down.

“What do you recommend for glowing skin?”

My first question is always:

**What do you mean by glow? 👀**

Because “glow” can mean different things.

Maybe you’re dealing with dullness.

Maybe you’re looking for hydration.

Maybe you simply want your skin to look healthier and more comfortable.

That’s why I don’t like choosing skincare based only on the words on the front of the bottle.

The **Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum: Propolis + Niacinamide** is one option currently available at Skin Guia.

But the better question isn’t:

“Is this popular?”

It’s:

**“Does this make sense for my skin goal?”**

Your skin goal first.

Product second.

Not sure what you actually need?

INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: HYALURONIC ACID 💧

You’ve probably seen “hyaluronic acid” on countless skincare products.

But what is it actually doing?

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant commonly used in formulas focused on hydration.

In simple terms, humectants help attract and hold water within the skin’s surface layers.

You can find hyaluronic acid in everything from serums and moisturisers to sunscreen formulas.

But here’s the part I don’t want you to miss:

“Contains hyaluronic acid” doesn’t tell you everything about a product.

The rest of the formula matters.

Your skin goal matters.

And how the product fits into your routine matters.

So don’t shop for one ingredient in isolation.

Understand the ingredient — then look at the whole product.

Save this for the next time you see HA on a skincare label. 🤎

Why does this sunscreen have BLACK RICE in it? 👀

The Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airlift Daily Sunscreen SPF50+ combines UV filters with black rice extract.

And I think this is a good example of why reading a product beyond the front of the bottle matters.

You can be interested in the extra skincare ingredients, but don’t forget the product’s main purpose:

It’s a sunscreen.

So when choosing one, I still want you to think about whether it’s something you’ll actually use consistently and whether it fits comfortably into your routine.

The interesting ingredient is a bonus to investigate — not a reason to forget what the product is actually for.

Available at Skin Guia.

We expect skincare products to do A LOT. 😂

One product to hydrate.

Clear blemishes.

Fade dark spots.

Fix texture.

Minimise pores.

And somehow give us perfect skin overnight.

But different products have different jobs.

A cleanser has a job.

A moisturiser has a job.

A sunscreen has a job.

A treatment has a job.

Your routine doesn’t need one miracle product.

It needs products that each have a reason for being there.

That’s a much better place to start.

What skincare concern are you actually trying to address right now?

Not every serum needs to be about dark spots. 🤎
Meet the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum: Propolis + Niacinamide.
It’s one of the serum options currently available at Skin Guia, and its listed focus includes hydration, skin comfort, texture and overall skin appearance, with acne-prone skin, redness and dullness among the relevant concerns.
What I like about this conversation is that “glow” doesn’t have to mean buying another brightening product.
Sometimes your goal is simply to support a routine focused on hydration, comfort and healthier-looking skin.
And as always, don’t choose a serum just because the front of the bottle sounds appealing.
Look at the formula.
Look at your concern.
Look at the rest of your routine.
Choose with a reason.
