POSTS STORIES REELS

🌊🌊✨️So hyped to share the incredible cover for my debut novel, BEYOND THE BATHS OF STARS, forthcoming from @amistadbooks @harpercollins 11/3/26! 🌊🌊✨️

Grateful to @bonyramirezz for letting us borrow his stunning artwork

Grateful to the amazing team at Amistad for helping bring this vision to life

Grateful to my agent @n.c.books for so fiercely advocating for this book

This novel is a labor of love, an investment of >10 years of writing, a Homeric Odyssey modernization, an exploration of diasporic identity, and an examination of fate and things that feel outside of our control in contemporary late capitalist America. I hope you read it.

Book is available for pre-order now, link in bio 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Ten years. Here's the thing I've been working on for 10 years. The novel that I've written, and re-written, and re-written again countless times. The novel that's kept me up at night wrestling with Haitian diasporic identity and US capitalism and poetry and classical literature. I still don't quite believe it.

Enormous thanks and infinite gratitude to my extraordinary and fierce agent Nicole @thebookgrp and my phenomenal editor Daphney @amistadbooks @harpercollins. Thank you to everyone who loved on me and this book. Thank you for having believed.

Can't wait to share this one with you. by @skrancy

INTERVIEW: @skrancy discusses his debut novel, BEYOND THE BATHS OF STARS, with @courtneykocak over at Debutiful.net!

The two talked about reimagining The Odyssey, Haitian-American identity, class and inequality, the American dream, and the role of fate and free will in his debut novel, Beyond the Baths of Stars.

STARS is a contemporary reimagining of The Odyssey that follows four recent high school graduates in South Florida as they navigate friendship, ambition, cultural expectations, and the inequalities that shape their futures. It is available now from @amistadbooks. by @skrancy

NEW & NOTEWORTHY DEBUTS COMING OUT THIS NOVEMBER

As the year winds down, the books keep getting hotter.

Are any of these on your radar? by @skrancy

Remembering this simple moment of joy in Rio: walking along Copacabana Beach and coming across THE statue of brilliant Brazilian novelist Clarice Lispector. Literature has always filled me with such wonder. Now, 4 days out from the release of my own novel (15 years in the making!), I feel both wonder and gratitude. I hope you buy a copy of Beyond the Baths of Stars. I hope you read it. I hope you find wonder. by @skrancy

I am SO EXCITED to share I’ll be moderating a virtual book launch for my dear friend Schneider K. Rancy and HIS DEBUT NOVEL!!!✨ Next Monday 11/2 at 6pm, we are hosted by @wordupbooks — Schneider will read from BEYOND THE BATHS OF STARS (@amistadbooks, Nov 2026), I’ll geek out with him about his creative process, and we’ll have time for some Q&A. I believe this is Schneider’s only virtual book launch event (he’ll be in both Miami and Brooklyn) so if you live far away and want to celebrate this wonderful human being and his excellent book, please join us! You can RSVP at WithFriends.co/WordUp or at the link in my bio.

@skrancy and I met as undergrads at @columbia (shout out to mutual bestie Allison) over a decade ago. He wrote this book WHILE in med school/residency (which is wild to me lol). I am truly honored to get to be a part of this event with Schneider, and I’m very grateful to the amazing @wordupbooks for hosting us virtually next Monday night!

📚 You can pre-order the book from WordUp! (The event page has a link for that along with RSVP-ing.) I just ordered my official copy (even though I got to preview it 👀, and it’s ofc amazing)

🎉Congratulations Schneider, can’t wait to celebrate with you next week. Also, good luck in the hospital doing surgery stuff until then lol <3
