Dear Grandma Myme, As I was driving just now, my heart felt so heavy thinking about you. I still can’t fully process it, and I can’t believe you weren’t here with us for Christmas. For as long as I can remember, we’ve always celebrated Christmas at your house, 96 Peyton Road. That house holds a million memories I will never forget. We all knew you were sick, and even the doctors told us to prepare, but now, with the holidays upon us, it’s hitting me harder than I imagined. I never even got the chance to send you your Cash App. I can still hear your voice saying, “There it go”🥹😂 whenever you’d hear the sound of the money coming through. I would give anything to hear that again. I can’t believe you’re gone, Myme. I’ll miss so many things, like going to the store to get your Whitehouse Cherry Vanilla ice cream😔and those voicemails you’d leave me, always full of jokes and that special name calling that only we understood. You made every Christmas so special, and I had so much to look forward to because of you. The holidays will never be the same without you. It’s going to be a constant reminder that you’re no longer here with us, and it’s so hard to accept. I wanted to stay home that day, but I didn’t want to let the sadness overwhelm me, so I pushed myself to go out. I’m so glad I got to tell you that I’m going back to school for my Master’s. I know you were proud to hear that. And there were other things I shared with you about 2025, and I’m thankful I got to do that too. But Myme, you went out in style girl! As hard as it was to see you in that casket, you were absolutely beautiful. Your service was amazing, and so many people came out to honor you and celebrate your life. You were loved and cherished by so many, Myme. You touched so many lives and raised generations of children. I sit back and think like wow, you did that Granny! You were the glue that held our family together, and I can only hope we stay close to one another, even now that you’re gone. Thank you for everything, Myme. You will forever and always be in my heart. Until we meet again, My personal angel🪽 With all my love, Skylur *04/24/1939 – 12/15/2024* by @skyylurrg
