We love this quote by Richard Adams from the prologue of “Watership Down” and agree with Juliet about epigraphs!

“With regard to the epigraphs at the head of each chapter, Juliet said, “I like them because when you read one for the first time, you can’t imagine how it is going to have anything to do with the story; and then, when you read on, you see how it does.”

“Tern’s Tale: the Coven of Goshaleg Island” is coming soon. It’s pronounced GO-sha-lag, btw. Want to be an ARC reader? DM for a link. I’d love to have you on the team! It’s a gaslamp fantasy prequel novella to the “Dire Skies Trilogy.” #fantasybooks #steampunk #gaslampfantasy #direskies by @slagasaga

Going through my ARC of TSTATS, as we call it, with a tiny pencil. The little scraps of paper mark the ‘finds.’ Even after it’s been edited and flyspecked by first readers, there are always things that evade detection. #bookstagram #epicfantasy #fantasy #direskies by @slagasaga

I got to meet the great Neil Gaiman last night. He’s the SLU literary award winner for 2023, and there was reception in his honor at Pius Library. We chatted about writing, Good Omens season 2, working with Terry Pratchett, and other pleasant things. Still buzzing 🤓 by @slagasaga
