I pictured a lot of things But how could I have dreamt of you? Your daddy‘s eyes, that chestnut hair, the way your heart collects kindness but never means to cash it in And then sometimes you go and tell a story on paper or stretch your legs across that field of dewy green Good God, my girl, every day I get to see it: a little lovepiece of your dad a single shinysliver of me and all the ways you are far more than I would have ever dared to dream Happy Birthday to my sweet girl. I adore now. I always will. #annualbirthdaypoem #poem #poemoftheday by @sldpease

“Let Me Get this Straight” you’re worried about where ICE is headed instead of seven Ivy League men you welcomed the fox into the henhouse you dropped your name in a ballot box for a man who murdered decency you let them bury files beneath piles of debris, serpentine debauchery dilapidated democracy built on push pushing everything we’ve built back beneath the ground do you hear that? it’s the sound of this world saying your choices seem pretty crooked to me #cornell7 #cornell #poem #poemoftheday by @sldpease

“Seasons of (Self)Love” by @sldpease
“Seasons of (Self)Love” If Mother Earth, in all Her glory, settles softly into every season, a worshipped woman who lets leaves fall and makes snow melt, who brings flowers to bloom and sends the sun to sing, a holy matriarch who calls the caterpillar to fly and tadpoles to grow feet, well then I should think we might swear to our sacred seasonal selves that change is a good and gracious thing #poem #poemoftheday by @sldpease
