Before and after glaze fire on a darling mug I sold a few months ago in Logan. Hope she’s doing well!!! (“She” meaning both the mug and my customer)

This is one of my favorite cakes to date. 3 layers of apple cider donut cake with caramel buttercream. The secret ingredient to make it so moist is Greek yogurt 👀

I made this cake once before, years ago when I lived at my old place and I’m kind of shocked I don’t make it more often.

Thank you to those who could make it to the 11th #slowersweetsclub!! As always, it was so fun being able to share cake and chat 🤭

Also: I made those plates and the mug 🤭 except the rectangle plate by @slowersundays

Baked an angel food cake for the first time for a celebration of life. I was surprised how simple yet time consuming it was. It uses only 6 ingredients (cake flour, sugar, salt, TWELVE egg whites ((?!?)), cream of tartar, and vanilla) but requires a lot of patience between the whipping and the waiting. I made vanilla crème anglaise with some of the yolks and it paired perfectly with the light, airy cake.

Colin’s grandmother was famous for her angel food cake especially, and she also baked molasses cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and special k bars for her family and neighbors. I’m so grateful to have met her. May she rest in peace 🤍 by @slowersundays

St Louis gooey butter cake from Claire Saffitz 🧈 I was in STL a couple months ago but didn’t get to try a butter cake! I saw online that the more traditional STL butter cake is made with cake mix but I wanted to try this yeasted dough version from Dessert Person. It’s very good, albeit maybe too buttery for me which is not something I ever thought I’d say about anything. I am, after all, a butter apologist.
The only thing with this recipe is it takes two days (or one very long day) because of the overnight rise. Would I make it again? Maybe 🤔 depends how popular it is at the housewarming I’m taking it to tonight. by @slowersundays

My proudest pot yet 🫖 does anyone wanna come over for tea? I need an excuse to use this and make little cakes hehe

Haven’t breakfastposted in a while. I was craving a Dutch baby this morning and we were lucky enough that raspberries were on sale 👀 💫 we used the fancy maple syrup Colin brought back from his work trip.
Had to include the last slide bc @nightwalk72 knitted a beautiful set of pot holders for me!! Used in this case as a trivet 💋 by @slowersundays

Okay the itch has been scratched and I don’t need to make this vortex berry bowl ever again lmao

I love when things get trendy so I can try something new but this is more gimmick to me than necessary. Super fun to use and taught me some new skills!

Another unsticking video 👀 a lot of things went funky with this fun springy jar. This was from a batch that had to be fired multiple times because of kiln failures 😵 but it resulted in this very cute denim-ish color. There’s a small s crack at the inside bottom of this jar, and some glaze that needs to be sanded off, but otherwise I’m happy with this :-) no chips. Perfectly functional but a little wonky

Making things, baking things, eating things, enjoying things etc etc. a decidedly un-aesthetic recounting of life in the past couple months spent with people we love

Corn cake with corn pastry cream, honey SMBC, and blueberry coulis for the housewarming. In true Me fashion, I forgot to take pics before we cut into it 💀

Cardamom cake with dulce de leche buttercream for a dinner hosted by the lovely and gracious @masoodjuveria 🫶

Housewarming spread. Fried shallot focaccia, rosemary focaccia, preserved lemon loaf cake, skewers by Juveria, and brown butter chocolate chip cookies by Kabir. Not pictured: chocolate chip cookies by @erinleeslemp and pretzels by @esedlac4

Some cutie jars with cutie sculptures :)

A very specific piece of functional wall art for our bathroom.

One in a series of olive oil cruets 🥖

The best bread I’ve ever had by @loaf_lounge for @mitocaya

Squash blossom quesadillas 💋

Anguilla cocktail from @radiclechicago. Possibly my favorite drink rn slightly fruity, slightly botanical, very savory

Popup pastry box from @delsur.bakery. I think that pandan basque cake changed my life. That and the ube cream pie by @slowersundays

@keepsake.stl is the coolest workshop space and fiber arts store and I get to have my pieces front and center?!?!

I absolutely loved making these funky wall vases and trinket dishes. Thank you so much @carla.haines for having me in your space 💖 by @slowersundays

I’ve been getting pretty good at these 👀 trying to resist the urge to sell things before I properly document. This jar will be for sale soon. If you’re curious to see more of my work either to purchase or just to browse, check out @sundaystoneware. Some of my stuff will soon be available at a local boutique here in Chicago- keep your eyes peeeeeeeeled ✨ by @slowersundays

Quadruple citrus pantry/fridge clean out loaf 🍞
@suntewari gifted me bergamot, mandarin, and blood orange olive oil before leaving for Singapore and they all made their way into this loaf along with some of the preserved lemons I made back in January. After baking, I soaked with honey syrup :-)

I’m such a huge fan of preserved lemons in both sweet and savory dishes. It added a nice mellow funk to this loaf that would have otherwise been pretty one-note. by @slowersundays
