Today, we honor Indigenous Peoples’ Day. At Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc., we celebrate and acknowledge the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples across the Americas.

As we reflect on their strength, resilience, and the lasting impact they have had on history, we stand in solidarity with the fight for Indigenous rights and sovereignty.

Let us take this day to listen, learn, and uplift the voices of Indigenous communities, acknowledging the past while actively working toward a more inclusive and equitable future.❤️ by @slu_lambda

✨ Wishing the happiest birthday to our Libra Hermanas! May your special day be as fabulous as you are! ♎️❤️ by @slu_lambda

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sigma Lambda Upsilon stands in solidarity with all those affected by breast cancer. Early detection is vital-let’s take action by educating ourselves and our communities.💗

Remember to look for key signs: lumps, changes in breast size or shape, nipple discharge, and skin changes. Together, we can make a difference by spreading awareness and supporting those in need. by @slu_lambda

💜In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, also known as Interpersonal Violence Awareness Month, we are sharing 4 powerful books that bring attention to this critical issue and offer insight, understanding, and hope for survivors:

“Why Does He Do That?” by Lundy Bancroft

“The Gift of Fear” by Gavin de Becker

“No Visible Bruises” by Rachel Louise Snyder

“Trauma and Recovery” by Judith Herman

💜Through literacy, we can raise awareness, foster understanding, and support the fight against domestic violence.💜

Our spirits are heavy as we reflect on the allegations at Cornell University and the broader reality of sexual violence that continues to affect women in our communities.

We stand in sisterhood with all survivors of all forms of assault.

We feel tenderness for their pain, we respect their stories, and we are committed to contributing to a world where women can exist without fear.

Until then, we #FaceFearWithLove.

To survivors everywhere, we see you, we honor you, and we stand with you, Siempre ✊🏽❤️ by @slu_lambda

✨Cultural Enrichment/Enriquecimiento Cultural✨

🌎What you see is pride. What drives it is culture. 🌎

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we honor the roots that ground us and the pride that carries us forward. Our culture defines our past, embodies our present, and influences our future.💃🏾💃🏻💃🏿💃🏼💃🏽

Today, we pause to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001. 🩶

We remember the lives that were taken, the families and loved ones forever changed, and the brave first responders and everyday heroes who selflessly stepped forward during one of our nation’s darkest moments.

May we never forget their names, their stories, or the lives they lived. May their memory continue to remind us of the strength found in unity, compassion, and service to one another.

25 years later, their memory lives on. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸 by @slu_lambda

💜💙Today, and throughout this month, we take a moment to reflect not only on our own mental health, but also on the well-being of the people we love.
Please remember you are never alone, and you should never feel like you have to fight your battles alone. There is no shame in asking for help, reaching out, or letting someone know that you’re struggling. Taking care of your mental health is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Have these difficult conversations with loved ones. One conversation can make a difference.💙💜 by @slu_lambda
