The Ultimate Guide to Belgian Light Festivals (Rated by Audience!) ✨🇧🇪

It’s officially light show season! We’ve visited the best of the best across Belgium and have rated them to help you decide where to spend your evening. Save this before you finalize your winter plans!

Our Light Festival Report Card (Categorized by Vibe)
1. Zoo/Planckendael - Best for Small Kids (Ages 2–6)
• The Vibe: Bright, big light sculptures—nothing too crazy or scary. It’s the perfect introduction to light shows.

2. De Grote Schijn -Antwerp Most Mysterious, good for all ages.
• The Vibe: An intense light and sound spectacle. Very popular and can get quite busy!
• Approx. Dates: Mid-October – Mid-November.

3. Our Absolute Favorite: Putteke Winter - De Schorre
• The Vibe: This is our 10/10 favorite! It’s the perfect, unique combination of beautiful lights, professional performances, and theatrical shows.
• Best For: Older children (like Liam’s age) and up.
• Small Wonders Tip: This amazing festival only runs for one weekend in November! You must plan this one well in advance if you want tickets.

4. Light Safari (Beekse Bergen - NL) - Great for Everyone
• The Vibe: A very beautiful and long, comprehensive light parcours. Highly suitable and enjoyable for all ages!
• Small Wonders Tip: Since the parcours is so long, wear your absolute warmest boots and layer up more than you think you need—you’ll be moving slowly and exposed to the cold for a long time.

Which light trail are you doing this winter? 👇

Don’t wanna wake up one day, wishing that we’d done more... 🌍✨

Life moves fast, kids grow up even faster, and at the end of the day, the core memories we build together are the only things that truly stay. No regrets, just moments lived to the fullest. ✨

Here’s to collecting small wonders and big smiles every single day!🫶🏻

Life is short. Be silly. 🐸✨

“Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive anyway.” — Elbert Hubbard

Proof that the best memories are usually the ones where you’re just being completely ridiculous on the sidewalk with your favorite little person. 🤪🐸
