THREE KYRIES, ONE SHOE, AND IT WORKS ♠️ ANTA KAIBRID “Spades” (Blue/Purple/Orange), $150, style 812711102-2. ANTA took the wrap from the KAI 1, the heel from the KAI 2 and the outsole from the KAI 3 and merged them into one shoe. I love it. I love the collaboration, I love that they pulled three silhouettes into one, and the fit feels great. 🔩 Molded sidewall, which ANTA says is there for stability 🧬 Midfoot carbon plate 💨 Full-length nitrogen foam, ANTA’s own term 🕸️ Mesh and synthetic leather upper on a rubber outsole Receipt: bought at retail, $150, size 15. The ANTA page I checked listed 6.5 through 17. The midsole feels identical to my KAI 3. Colorway story is Macao’s skyline — pearl finish, speckle, metallic hits. ANTA’s page says the limited drop has ended. Which KAI feature should they have kept out? 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio. BEST-LOOKING MIND YET. STILL DOESN’T WORK. 🧠 The Nike Mind 001 (Light Smoke Grey), $95, HQ4307-003. This is the best-looking 001 I’ve had — the grey with the crimson and chrome is clean. I wanted this one to be the one. I’ve worn it. Stiff, uncomfortable, and it digs into the top of my foot. Nike sells the nodes as focus and mental prep. Across the 001 pairs and 002s I’ve had, nobody I’ve heard from, me included, says it does that. The colorway doesn’t change the foot. That’s the no. 🧠 22-node outsole, nodes move independently up and down against your foot — Nike’s Mind Science Department 🧵 Perforated upper and knit tongue, stretch fabric footbed over the nodes 🦶 Rubber pods at toe and heel for traction 💵 $95 at Nike Receipt: bought at retail, $95 before tax, size 15. Would you wear a shoe for the look when the foot says no? 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio. TWO SKINS, ONE PRICE 🐸 The Nike Air Liquid Max (Black/Radiant Blue/Sapphire), $220, IQ7634-004 — a frog print. Nike sells this shoe in two skins at the same $220: the plain mesh on the site, and the frog prints. The first release was a frog print, the green, and Nike sold the whole shoe on the poison dart frog. I’ve had the green, the red, this one, and the plain ones. The fit and the feel are exactly the same. This one is one of my favorites. I love it. 🐸 Nanoprint across the mesh, modeled on a dart frog’s toe pads 🧵 Three-layer textured mesh upper with a seamless finish 💨 Drop-in Cushlon midsole sitting on point-loaded Air pods in a cored-out sole 💵 $220 at Nike — same price as the plain black on the site Receipt: bought on Nike.com Jul 23, delivered Jul 31, $220 before tax, size 15. NIKE REBUILT THE MIND 002. SAME VERDICT 🧠 The Nike Mind 002 (Fossil Stone and Plum Eclipse) is $145, style IR2176-101, and it’s the Mind 002 with a Flyknit upper where the standard 002 runs mesh. Same 22 nodes underfoot, same price as the mesh pair I covered in March. It’s still a Mind, but a different one, and I still don’t like it. I’ve only tried this pair on, so this is about the idea, not the fit. Nike sells the nodes as focus and mental prep. Across five 001 pairs and three 002s, nobody I’ve heard from, me included, says it does that. That’s the no. 🧶 Flyknit upper with engineered perforations, per Nike; the first Flyknit 002 was the Fragment pair 🧠 22 outsole nodes that Nike says move up and down against the foot to activate sensory areas of the brain 🟤 Fossil Stone knit, Plum Eclipse accents, foam midsole, stretch fabric on the footbed to let the nodes move 🔘 Toggle lacing; “NIKE MIND SCIENCE DEPARTMENT” printed on the sole Receipt: $145 MSRP, IR2176-101, size 15. Tried on, not worn. Released September 3 on SNKRS. Colorway and spec from Nike’s SNKRS page; box label not read. Third Mind 002 on this channel, first in Flyknit. New upper, same nodes, same price. JA 4 DEEP WATER: $140, FOAM ONLY 🦈 The Nike Ja 4 “Deep Water” (Diffused Blue) is $140, style code JA9742-400, and Nike’s own page lists the cushioning as Cushlon 3.0 foam with a SPRPWR sockliner on top. No Air unit in the listed spec. What you’re paying for is the shark on the tongue and the words molded under it. 🧱 Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole, SPRPWR sockliner stacked on top 🦈 Shark graphic on the tongue, “If you are down there” molded into the outsole 🔒 Lateral JA-frame around the midfoot, foam-and-mesh upper with textured overlays ⚖️ 392g / 13.8 oz in a men’s 9, 6mm drop, per Nike Receipt: size 15 pair in hand. $140 MSRP, JA9742-400. Nike’s page listed 14, 15 and a crossed-out 16. Every spec above is off Nike’s product page. Nike lists Ja as a Trail Blazer now; the trade closed June 29. Foam only at $140: is the shark worth it, or is this a pass? Tell me 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio. WHITAKER GROUP REJUVEN8. NO COLLAB TAX 🎨 The Whitaker Group x Nike ReactX Rejuven8 Splatter Pack “Blue Drift” is $75, style IU3433-400. A collab normally costs you the name. The Whitaker Group, James Whitner’s network behind the Air Jordan 3, Air Ship and Air Jordan 12 collabs, put its splatter on Nike’s closed-toe recovery shoe and sold it through its own stores at $75. Nike’s plain Rejuven8 shoe on Nike.com is $75. Splatter paint, zero over the plain pair. I’ve worn this pair, and underneath it’s the same Rejuven8 I keep buying. 🎨 White splatter over a dark blue ReactX upper, dark blue Swoosh 🫧 One-piece ReactX foam, perforated forefoot, midsole and outsole in one 🏬 Three colorways sold through Whitaker Group stores: Blue Drift, Black Signal, Violet Rush 💵 Nike.com Rejuven8 shoe $75. This one $75. The name is free Receipt: $75 MSRP, IU3433-400, size 15, bought at A Ma Maniére. Worn, this pair. AMM’s listing ran through 15. Final sale at the store. Nike.com Oct 21: Rejuven8 shoe $75, Rejuven8 slide $65. Same money, plain pair or the splattered one. Which are you taking 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio. SIX CAITLIN 1s. ONE HAS HER NAME ON IT 🔵 The Nike Caitlin 1 “Caitlin Blue” (Racer Blue/Multi-Color) is $140, style IH7423-400, and it’s the colorway Nike named after her. It launched October 1 next to the yellow Warning Code, with four more to follow through December. I wore the yellow pair. This one I’ve only tried on, and I haven’t played in either. Same shoe, same $140. The difference is the name. ⚡ Air Zoom Turbo unit paired with Cushlon foam 🧵 Nike Opticast upper, lightweight and locked-in per Nike ✌️ Double Swoosh for her initials and the three-point arc; molded 22s and CCs in the upper 🏀 “It was never a long shot” on both shoes; “Shoot more threes” left, “From anywhere” right Receipt: $140 MSRP, IH7423-400, size 15, a women’s 16.5. Worn: the Warning Code pair, not this one. Nike lists the Caitlin 1 in women’s and men’s sizing. Six colorways are slated through December. Six colorways in year one, and one carries her name. REAL OR FAKE, IT’S A BAD SHOE EITHER WAY 🧠 The Nike Mind 001 (Black/Anthracite/Cool Grey) is $95, style HQ4307-005, and fake vs real is one of its most-searched topics. Nine fake searches land on my channel. Checking yours or eyeing a fake to skip the $95: same answer. I’ve owned five pairs, all direct from Nike, so mine are real. Still a terrible shoe. A $95 foam slide with a wellness pitch feels like something’s wrong. Something is. It isn’t the authenticity. 🧠 Nike sells this as a mindfulness product, not a slide 🫧 One-piece foam, no heel lockdown, no arch support 📋 The Mind 001 box carries the APMA Seal of Acceptance 🩴 The ReactX Rejuven8 slide is at least $30 less and makes no wellness claim Receipt: $95 MSRP, HQ4307-005, size 15. Five pairs of the Mind 001 worn, not this pair: uncomfortable, poor fit, and a poor shoe. The APMA seal on the box sounds like medical backing until you read what it is: APMA says the seal is not an endorsement, and it only evaluates products companies submit. Nike submitted it. The foam isn’t the scam. The mindset pitch on top of the foam is. Real or fake, does it change anything 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio. NIKE IS SELLING YOU A DEMERIT FOR $120 🚫 The NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe "Demerits" (Black) is $119.99, style code FZ1363-002, and it's my favorite General Purpose Shoe so far, far and wide. The story is cool. The materials are the reason: the black ECCO leather is way better than the knit on the earlier pairs, and this is the first one I see myself keeping around. 🧵 ECCO leather upper 🧱 Three-piece cup sole: rubber outsole, gum rubber midsole, EVA foam core 🪢 Blue nylon herringbone donning straps ✍🏼 "NIKE" embroidered on the heel in Tom Sachs' handwriting Receipt: Nike SNKRS, $119.99, size 15. Made in Vietnam. NikeCraft's page says it's sized for women's sizes first, with other sizes listed on nikecraft.com. The demerit story is Tom Sachs nearly getting expelled for wearing soccer shoes to school and coloring the swoosh in with a marker. Leather or knit, which General Purpose Shoe do you want? GOOD MATERIALS, STILL MEH · $225 · IW2872-700 🍋 The Air Jordan 4 Retro x J Balvin “Amazonas” (Lemonade/Lemonade), $225, IW2872-700, has good materials and some nice details, and it’s still not my style. To me it’s a pretty meh shoe. It’s inspired by the Amazon and its yellow crocodiles, which is where the croc-textured upper comes from. I’ve worn plenty of Jordan 4s, not this pair. Under the hood: 🐊 Croc-textured leather upper in one shade of lemonade yellow 🏷️ Metallic silver lace tags: one reads “Solo Hazlo,” the other “Just Do It” 🙃 Balvin’s upside-down smiley on the right heel 👟 Debossed Jumpman tongue, tonal yellow midsole and outsole Receipt: $225 at retail, IW2872-700, size 15. THE KITE EARNS THE $15 · $150 · 812631102A-1 🪁 The ANTA KAI 3 "Kai Feng" (White/Black/Red), $150, 812631102A-1, costs $15 more than the $135 I paid for my KAI 3 Alchemist in September. That's a premium, and it's worth it: this might be one of my favorite pairs yet. ANTA built this one around Chinese kites and Kyrie Irving's tribal heritage, and the details carry the story: "Irving" in Chinese on the tongue, a winged sun and moon on the heel, and a Chinese Kite badge in the box. The materials are great, the storytelling is awesome and the details are perfect. ANTA killed it, and Kai just keeps delivering. I've worn this pair many times. Under the hood: 🪁 Kite-frame lines and wind lines across the upper, per ANTA ⚡ Full-palm nitrogen cushioning, which ANTA says delivers rebound 🧱 Midfoot carbon plate for stable support, per ANTA 👟 Mesh and synthetic leather upper, rubber outsole with an anti-slip texture Receipt: $150 at anta.com, 812631102A-1, size 15. My Alchemist was $135 in September. Would you pay $15 more for the story? 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio. I STILL TAKE THE JA 3 · $130 · IM4135-001 🌑 The Nike Ja 4 “Dark Mode” (Black/Cobalt Bliss/Dark Smoke Grey/Metallic Silver), $130, IM4135-001, is the second Ja 4 colorway on this page, after the “Nightmare” in August. I’ve worn the Ja 4 now. It may be the better guard shoe for some players, and that is its job. But as an everyday shoe, on court and off, the Ja 3 with its ZoomX is so hard to beat: the design, the comfort, the price. The Ja 4 doesn’t live up to that for me, and I still take the Ja 3. Under the hood: ⚡ Cushlon 3.0 foam, which Nike calls responsive 🧦 SPRPWR sockliner sitting on top of that foam 🛡️ JA-frame wrapped around the midfoot for containment, per Nike 📝 Foam upper with a textured haptic overlay, and Ja’s words molded into the outsole and the frame Receipt: $130 at retail, IM4135-001, men’s 15. Nike’s story for “Dark Mode” is a black and metallic silver pair for the gym work that happens behind the scenes. Guard shoe or everyday shoe: which Ja are you in? 👇🏼 Save this one. Link in bio.
