Ball first. Turf after. Compress your irons like a PRO! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ 1. Get the Ball First (Forward Shaft Lean) - At impact, your hands should be slightly ahead of the clubhead. This forward shaft lean helps you hit down on the ball and trap it against the clubface. Feel your knuckles toward the target at impact. 2. Control Low Point (Weight Forward) - Great iron players have their swing’s lowest point in front of the ball. To help this: Start with about 55–60% of your weight on your lead foot keep it there through impact. 3. Strike Before Turf (Brush the Grass After the Ball) - Compression happens when the club contacts the ball before the ground. Don’t try to lift the ball, Let the loft do the work. Divots should start after where the ball was. 4. Controlled Swing (Smooth Tempo) - Trying to swing hard usually ruins compression. Focus on a smooth tempo. Maintaining width and rotation results in cleaner strikes, lower launch, and controlled spin.
