POSTS STORIES REELS

Obligatory “hey there are new people here so I should introduce myself for the umpteenth time” post. 😂

I swear I’ve made this post a hundred times.

I tell you I have an almost 17-year-old senior wiener dog named Lukey. That I’m a kitchen witch + massive foodie. That I’ve been doing this full time since 2012, but got my first job in a film lab in Hinton at 13. That my mum was Mexican, my dad is French, I live right downtown Calgary and I travel… a lot.

All the usual facts.

How we can work together//

♡ WEDDINGS // Booking 2027 + room for one destination wedding in 2027. Take me somewhere sunnnnyyyy.

♡ NIGHT SHOOTS // Booking October through winter 2026/27.

♡ ILLUMINATE // Coming back as a retreat over Halloween 2027. Waitlist is in my bio.

♡ FOOD // Calling in more Calgary chefs + food people. I grew up in kitchens, worked in restaurants, cook from scratch constantly and seriously love food. I’d especially love a local Calgary chef or restaurant I could work with regularly in the downtown core.

Anyway, that’s me. Again. 😂

If you’re new, hiiiii. If you’ve been here forever, thanks for sitting through introduction post #847.

Excited to be a 2nd time guest on the Galactic Window podcast tonight.

Figured I should post a few of my fav night shots from last year.

@chasingthemilk & @theorbitalalliance are the hosts of the podcast and we’re talking about night sky stuff among other catching up things I’m sure.

It’ll be live on YouTube later tonight. I’ll add a link to my bio if you wanna tune in.

Live tonight on YouTube.
8pm mst.

Nocturnal Ornithology // Night Study of Birds 🦅

I used to do a lot more “creatives”. TFP we’d call them. These faded away once client work took over my calendars. Lately I’ve been making more time for shoots that are simply to be… creative.

I’ve been teaming up with my mad talented hair artist @kind.amy_ and for last nights shoot we were inspired by one thing // feathers.

I often wear feathers and also have felt close to owl feathers in particular since my mother crossed. She shows up as owls now for me in spirit.

Amy created hair that was stenciled like feathers and these two models we used were so inspiring to work with.

Any-hoooo (get it?)

Ahh.

Tis the season of short dark skies.

Did you know that here in Alberta in June…

1. Depending how north you are we only get maybe 1 hour of true darkness to shoot Astro photos. Yup. One hour between 1:30am and 2:30am. Better be a night owl if you want a star shoot in June 😂

2. It’s the start of our Milkyway season. Kind of. Because of lack of true darkness it’s hard to catch the core of the milkyway this month but it’s there. This time of year is when we can see the core. And when it shows up in Astro photos…. Oh she’s rare and so special.

3. Spiritually the summer Solstice (June 21st) is a time of transformation. Some believe it’s a portal date. In non wuuwuu talk… set some new intentions this day and say byeee byeee to what’s no longer serving you.

4. June 21st is our longest day of the year… and almost always one of my most busy shooting days and times of year. Those midnight sunsets are incomparable. I am completely booked for June and booking into July for night shoots.

5. Random fact. Kananaskis is one of my fav night shoot locations but we sadly won’t be using it almost the entire month of June due to the 51st G7 Leader’s Summit. The area will not be accessible due to world leaders all meeting in this area. Pretty cool we live this close to somewhere this beautiful enough to host this event.

Ok. Bye.

The sun disappeared today.
Just for a moment.
Long enough to remind us that endings
are almost always beginnings in disguise.

Who are you when no one’s watching?
Who do you become
when you let the dark
show you the way?

New moon.
New fire.
No mask.
Just you.

Introducing The Chébirs 🖤

✨Beneath the midnight sky and flicker of candlelight,
whispers of love echoed through shadows and soul✨

Friends… The moody Halloween wedding of my dreams happened last night. 🥹

The couple chose to create a new last name, a unique blend that carries pieces of their past and their shared future.

A blend of (Che)ta & (Bir)d, the couple’s last names with a nod to Danté, their dear Pup.

Yesterday’s Alternative Timeline:
✨Blue Hour First Look.
✨Night Candlelit Ceremony
✨Italian Dinner w Private Chef @alexedmonson
✨11:11pm Fire Offering
✨Midnight First Dance

Thank you to the many vendors who were part of yesterday’s amazing intimate wedding. What a team.

Pond full of LOVE 🧡

I don’t think I’ll remember the lanterns as much as I’ll remember what was written on them.

Walking around the pond at @spruce_meadows tonight I kept stopping to read messages on all the lanterns to loved ones, wishes for new beginnings, little love notes, prayers and memories.

By the end of the night all I could think about was how many hopes and messages of love were floating together under that beautiful moon we got.

What a special night. 1000’s of lanterns are pretty magical.

The drama.

This gothic wedding is only getting a tiny sneak peek on the gram for now.

@rainsicle got married and girl had a vision. Very grateful I was there to get to play with my camera.

The day was filled with so many thoughtful decor touches and so many friends and family members who flew in from all over the place to celebrate these two.

Congrats again @rainsicle & @harrisononions

It’s 7pm and dark outside.

I’m not mad either. But I know I may be in the minority. Where are my fellow night owls? Lovers of the night?

The dark is not “spooky” it’s simply the night. There’s a certain magic about the night too. Take it from me someone who’s made a living from going out in the middle of the night for shoots for years.

Night is quiet. It’s peaceful. It’s calm. It brings out the stars and your attention to nature exponentially when you’re out there.

If this sounds uncomfortable or creepy to you well my friend that means you need to go out in nature at night even more.

The night has lessons. Take it from me.

If you’re still reading this thanks… I didn’t use ai to write this. Just a good old blah blah caption like the good ol days. Bad grammar and all.
