Sofia Williams wanted a little more from herself in their first round in Dakar. As for Eloise? That little horse earned every pat 🖤 by @sofiawilliams.nz

“I think success at the Youth Olympic Games would just be an improvement on the horse I get over the days of competition.”✨

In season seven, episode six of RIDE, presented by @longines, we get to know New Zealand’s Sofia Williams and discover the horses, passion and journey that have helped bring her further than she ever imagined. 🇳🇿🐴

After securing a place at the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026, Sofia reflects on the excitement of representing her country, bonding with her teammates and embracing a new challenge., and while a medal would be incredible, for Sofia, true success means making the very best of the opportunity and improving on a borrowed horse. 🇸🇳

We are thrilled to also have Sofia Williams join the Stirrups team as a 2026/2027 sponsored rider!

About Sofia:
"I'm Sofia Williams a showjumper from the east coast of the Wairarapa. I’m also a student in my final year at St Matthews Collegiate.

I am so so excited to get back into the swing of the season with a new ride I was very lucky to steal from my mum! I have three main horses competing in juniors, 6yr olds, Youngs, Grand Prix's and maybe a few bigger classes. I can't wait to see what this season has in store, as well as the future with some nice young horses coming through with Mum. I am lucky enough to be in the ESNZ High Performance potential squad, and a part of previous trans tasman and other riding teams.

I am super excited to be a part of the Stirrups team for the 26/27 season
and have my horses and I blinged out in our favourite brands!"
