I think these might just be my new favourite winter trousers, ever 🌲 I designed these to be as comfortable as they are beautiful, and honestly they are the comfiest cords I’ve ever worn. They have a really gentle barrel shape to the leg, it’s subtle, so I think they’ll stand the test of time quite beautifully. Made from 100% organic cotton corduroy; the fabric has been made in India by a family run business. Each pair of Artist Trousers is made by me, Sophie in my Somerset studio. #slowfashion by @sofo.studio
Finally sharing some snaps from @glastofest How delightful to spend some time wandering around the festival with Kate @thisisthekit & Rozi @roziplain following their set on the Park Stage a couple of days before. We happened upon some backdrops that just felt so fitting. I had an absolutely joyful time designing and making Kate’s outfit, and am so stoked by all the lovely feedback we’ve received ❤️🖤🤍💚 Kate’s still on tour so go see her play - I promise you won’t be disappointed 👌🏼 PS I’m going to be ordering some more of this lovely organic cotton twill I used to make Kate’s Bristol Jacket & Painter Trousers, so if you’ve had your eye on either now is a good time to get on it, as it helps me order the right quantity of fabric - the film has a slight sepia tone due to some high heat, it is more of a bottle / forest green irl 🌲 by @sofo.studio
There’s a whole load of new faces here once more, so I thought I’d be brave and do an intro using my real life voice, for the first time ~ man it’s weird hearing your own voice on a loop ➰ Anyway… Hi, I’m Sophie Fox & I run SOFO studio. I design, cut and sew every single garment that leaves the studio floor. I’m really enjoying entering spring as that tends to be when I feel the most creative. I’ve been doing this for just shy of 3 years now, but I’ve had some iteration of it in my brain for well over a decade. I’m very big on being comfortable and ensuring 99% of your garments have pockets too. I only work with natural fibres and ethical suppliers - I love that when you buy something from me I can in turn support other small businesses too. I’m always happy to have a chat, so you can pop me a message with any questions 🪡 And as always, free Palestine ! 🇵🇸 #slowfashion #shopsmall #sustainablefashion #sustainablestyle by @sofo.studio
Lucia in her new Bristol Jacket in Oatmeal, on her way to a family wedding 💒 💕 This is the second Bristol Jacket in her collection… & honestly there’s no higher compliment than someone loving their SOFO studio garments so much, that they order one in another colour 🥹 From November I’ll be able to offer local deliveries in BS5 & BS1, once I’ve settled into my new home ✨ Thank you Lucia for these gorgeous photos 🫶 #slowfashion #madeinbristol #madetoorder by @sofo.studio

This year has been HARD. I get chronic migraines, which have been exacerbated by depression/trauma ~ I have so so SO many things I want to do with SOFO studio, and yet every time I have a flurry of ideas… my body says no. I feel like I’ve spent much of the past year living in a hole, trying to figure how to get out, trying to let myself meet all sorts of pain, both physical and mental, with kindness - but often when you’re feeling low, showing yourself just that can be a stretch. I don’t feel like myself. If you’re going through something similar, I feel you. Depression is lonely and griefy. Trauma is HARD work, and reprocessing it is exhausting; I’m currently going through EMDR therapy, and it is *a lot*. I keep expecting to pull myself through this quicker than I’m able. I know what’s happened and why I’m responding the way I am, and yet letting myself accept it takes time is… complicated. I feel regressive. I’m not showing up in the world how I’d like to. And there’s a secondary kind of grief that comes with that. So here’s a little snippet of me in the studio yesterday, feeling slightly more like myself for a few hours, to show myself I’m still me and I’m still here. I started SOFO studio as a “slow” fashion brand, as I think slowness is a key element to sustainability - so I guess maybe I just need to gently remind myself of that too. Thank you for being here ✨ #slowfashion #emdr by @sofo.studio
