My ideal work day consists of a shoot with the homies and ending early enough to go home, edit a bit and hit a hike since the weather is nice out now.
What do you like to make time for in your day? by @solange.tran

If you love the look of a podcast set, you don’t have to give it up. You just have to put someone in the other chair.
Some easy ways to make it real: have a client, a team member, or a friend actually
interview you, and let them ask follow up questions you didn’t plan for. Record a real conversation with someone in your industry who disagrees with you on something. Or skip the mic entirely and have someone off camera ask you questions while you work.
The reason real conversations land is simple. You react. You pause. You laugh at the wrong moment. Those are the parts people remember, and they only happen when someone is actually listening.

Excited to share something I’ve been working on: My speaker reel is officially live, and so is my keynote speaking business!

I speak on authenticity, leadership, and why being a little delusional on purpose might be the key to achieving the improbable ;)

Know a company, conference or event looking for a speaker? Send them my way! Learn more at the link in my bio.

When you’re about to spend real money on a video, it’s natural to want some kind of guarantee. So when someone confidently promises big numbers, it can feel reassuring. It shouldn’t. A promise about views is a promise about something no videographer controls.
How a video performs once it’s posted depends on a long list of things outside the shoot itself: the platform, the timing, what your audience is paying attention to that week, how often you post, whether people share it, and plenty more. A skilled professional can make that video as strong as possible. They can’t decide how an algorithm treats it or how millions of strangers react to it.
What you can reasonably expect, and should ask for, is clarity about everything that is in their control. How will they plan the video around your goal? What will they capture on the day? What’s the timeline to your first draft? How do they think about where it will be posted? Those answers tell you whether they know their craft.
If someone skips all of that and goes straight to promising a number, they’re selling you a feeling, not a process. The honest answer to “how will it perform?” is always “we’ll build it to have the best shot possible.” Anyone who says more than that is guessing out loud.

Gonna try my luck again tomorrow because this @calvinharris presale left my sis and I in shambles by @solange.tran

“We’ll fix it in post” sounds like a safety net. What it usually means is that the planning didn’t happen, and your budget is about to pay for someone to fight bad footage in the edit instead of making good footage on the day.
Here’s an easy way to tell who you’re about to hire. Before you book, ask what they do when the location is darker than expected or the room is loud. Someone who works in camera will tell you what they bring and how they set up. Someone who relies on the edit will tell you not to worry about it.
Editing is a real craft, and a good editor can do a lot. What an editor can’t do is invent light that was never there or a clean voice the mic never caught. That gets decided on set, before anyone opens editing software.
The majik happens on set.
Comment VISION and I’ll send you the link to book a free Vision Call. by @solange.tran

Celebrated Atlanta Pride yesterday and walked in the parade with the wonderful folks at @rustininstitute and @youthbelongatl

If you know a student or young person who could use a safe space and develop leadership skills, send them this way!

Got to visit the @mimms_museum for the first time yesterday and thought it was so cool that they have these older Macs you can play with. I think this one was specifically for graphic design by @solange.tran

My heart is so full!! Getting to debut my art at the @atlartfair was a dream. Thank you @hambidgecenter for fostering such a supportive community and empowering emerging artists. I’m beyond grateful to have shared this with my loved ones.
It’s crazy because this past weekend was also my 4th year Atlantaversary and I can’t think of a better way to have celebrated my time here. Moving to Atlanta has brought me so many first time experiences which I am cherishing more and more as I get older.
Cheers to more firsts!! by @solange.tran
