✨️MALA'S ~ where the journey began.
✨️ORIGAMI earrings.
✨️ORIGINAL PAINTINGS ~ transformed into wearable art.

POSTS STORIES REELS

I'm so excited to finally share this new collection with you. 🤍

My creative journey has taken many beautiful turns over the years. It began with creating malas, and they will ALWAYS hold the closest place in my heart. They are so valuable to me and aren't going anywhere.✨️ There is something so special about making pieces with intention and a story behind them. My malas are where this journey began, and they will always be woven into the story of my work.

Over time, my creativity naturally expanded into other forms of jewelry, allowing me to explore new materials, designs and ways of expressing myself.

Painting came into my life during a time when I needed a quiet place to heal. I started painting for therapeutic reasons, never imagining it would become such an important part of my creative journey. Somewhere between the colours, brushstrokes, and a few happy accidents, I found moments of peace, comfort and a new way to express what I was feeling. I am still discovering my painting style and I appreciate that the canvas teaches me something new everytime I sit down to paint.

One day, while looking at one of my paintings, I found myself wondering if I could create jewelry from this?!

Each jewelry piece is created from an image of one of my original paintings. These pieces are a reminder that beautiful things can come from trying something new, embracing imperfections, and trusting the creative journey.

Thank you for following along, supporting my creative adventures and encouraging me to keep exploring. I'm so grateful to share this new chapter with you, and I hope you find a piece that speaks to you and brings a little joy into your day.✨️

With love and gratitude,
ONE LOVE,
Carla 💛

PS..Have you tried something new lately that has brought you joy? If so, I would love to hear about it.😊 by @solserendipity

It is time to reintroduce myself so...

Hi ~ it's me, Carla, the heart and hands behind SOL SERENDIPITY ~ where magic, meaning and handmade beauty collide. If we haven't met yet (or it's been a while), here's a big HELLO from my corner of the world!👋

At SOL SERENDIPITY, I create Mala's ~ meaningful and spiritual jewelry, and lately...tiny origami pieces of art. Origami crane earrings made from washi paper to and introducing origami wonders folded from the pages of your favourite books and fairytales. (YES, Cinderella's slipper and Mulan's courage could be dangling from your ears soon! Wait, did I mention Lilo and Stitch, because they are coming soon too.😃)

Now for some quirky get to know me fun.
✨️ I can't resist a good thrift haul
✨️ My dream job ~ Archeologist, deep in the heart of where civilization began, think N. AFRICA and the MIDDLE EAST.
✨️ I have a deep interest and learning curve in ALL religions, in fact, I have read translated pages from the Qur'an, Ron.L Hubbard musings, and read the King James Bible front to back, to name a few.
✨️I was never a Princess girlie, give me Tinkerbell and the side characters any day.
✨️I have a weird obsession with lamposts. Think 1880's London and the one in Narnia.😆
✨️I LOVE ABBA, and will not be in the closet about it!
✨️Like any good Ukrainian girl, I used to be able to "PLAY" the spoons.
✨️I have a MIRACLE baby. My daughter Brin, was born at 27 weeks old, without a heartbeat. She was resuscitated by a team of caring and amazing people and we spent months in the NICU at BCCH/RIH
✨️I am a lyricist and I once wrote a song for my brother. This song is about to get a fresh coat of paint and redone by my husband's band, Carbide.
✨️I was once told that I lived a past life as a scribe in the Ziggurat of Ur in Mesopotamia and that all makes PERFECT sense to me.🌞
✨️Being vulnerable is hard and a work in progress.😆😃

So, whether you've been with me since the beginning or you've just stumbled upon SOL SERENDIPITY, I'm glad you are here ~ thank you for holding space for me.💛✨️🙏✌️

ONE LOVE,
Carla

Hi! This is me, Carla! The dreamer, the manifestor, the creator, and the being behind Sol Serendipity!
Please excuse me while I jump COMPLETELY OUTTA my comfort zone and throw this photo of me on here. Let me tell you, it is way easier to take stock photos of my creations then trying to find 'the perfect freaking photo of myself'. The vulnerability is real and raw I tell you. I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself and explain the WHY of my company.See that, super long, huge bead (10mm) Mala in my hands? THAT piece started it all. It is important to me, even in all of its imperfections because it marks a moment in time when my life shifted in a very big and important way. Everyone has a story, I will not delve into mine here, but suffice to say, that my life path collided with the power of MEDITATION and thank goodness it did. It has been a game changer for me. Am I perfect in my practice? HELL NO! Do I meditate every day like I should? STUPIDLY NO. Do I get monkey brain? UM YA, i do! But, I keep on keeping on because I KNOW it serves my highest and most loving good.💛 Now, I have completely digressed.Where was I going with that? 🤔 ( the 54 yr old brain is REAL TOO😉)oh right I remember. Along with my meditation practice came the digging of all things in synergy with this. The untangable and tangable (the mala). I can remember going online and spending hours finding the nicest LOOKING ( the more pink the better)mala from a cheap big box company, because I had no idea how important that process truly was at that time. I was so excited when it arrived. I hurriedly went to my meditation space, closed my eyes, took some deep breaths, starting saying my mantras outloud while I moved each stone. It was magical and then something horrible happened and I kid u not, the tassel fell apart in my hands.😫 I was seriously so bummed and lets not talk about all the bad energy I felt was floating around my bedroom from that broken Mala. Needless to say, that pretty pink Mala was the catalyst to the imperfectly perfect aqua mala in my hands above. The very next week I taught myself how to make my very own Mala. The rest is history. Happy Tuesday!

This little lady is darn hard to photograph. The gentle colour of the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE Rose Quartz is so gentle and soft it melds into the background of the white. It's no wonder that this Mala's softness emulates so much love...self love, wordly love but in this case, most importantly, a Mother's Love. 💖 She is also a trauma soother by bringing relief and healing from anxiety and stress. Helping to ground and balance all things. She is beautiful.💛💫

Some gemstones used:
Rose Quartz
Amethyst
Pink Opal

I've been sitting with something lately, and I want to share it with you.💛

I recently saw two ladies I follow @brittaney.bartel and @moon.and.soul.healing post about family astrology. In particular for me, Virgo and Leo children. I have Leo in my sun sign and a Rising sign and a STELLIUM in Virgo. Something about these posts really reaonated with me and gave me the reason WHY this post was so important to me. SIDE NOTE: 2 of my children have Virgo suns and 1 child has Leo sun placement.😉😀✨️

It got me thinking about the different parts of myself - and how, even tho I've been painting more and more, I've been a little afraid to actually show more of my artwork here.

I've already started to make the shift, and shared a little bit more about it in a previous post. But, I think this is the next piece of the conversation.

The Virgo in me wants everything organized, intentional, polished and JUST RIGHT. And then there's my Leo....she wants to CREATE.😆💛 To play, experiment, make beautiful things and put my whole heart into it.

And maybe I've been too shy to let that side be seen.
Maybe I don't have to choose, maybe I get to be ALL of it.

The beads AND the brushes
The detail AND the wildness
The quiet AND the colour

My Malas/Jewelry and Artwork are EQUALLY important to me. They're both ways I connect, create, express myself, and put a little piece of my heart into the world.

So I'm giving myself permission to let all of the parts belong here.

And honestly, it feels good to finally let you see more of me. 💛✨️ by @solserendipity

"In NEON"
I wanted to create something colourful, fun and with a wee bit of whimsy.✨️ Also, lets be honest here, when I see these colours it throws me back to the 1980's and no one portrayed that colour hue better than WHAM in their music video.....IYKYK.😆

The translation to jewlery was 👌! The necklace pendant was created with the words 'BE YOU' captured in it...a lovely set for that POP OF COLOUR person in your life.💛

Now available, 5x7 Giclee prints. A high resolution, museum quality digital fine art reproduction.....according to GOOGLE.😊

Have an awesome day! 💛✌️☀️🙏
