A quick update to ensure things can continue moving as smoothly as possible, during an incredibly urgent time. 💔🫂 Thank you! by @sometimesalyreadsbooks

@_sara.15._ needs $175 before the end of the month or she won't be able to continue her college studies to become a pharmacist!

We were able to keep a family sheltered for another week. Can we help Sara, too? 💗 by @sometimesalyreadsbooks

This is what childhood looked like before the war. 💔

This photo was taken three years ago, before everything changed.

Three beautiful, smiling children. Safe, happy, and surrounded by the people who loved them. They had a home, a family, and a future that should have been filled with ordinary childhood memories. Now, @is.kr200 who is just 20 years old, is doing everything he can to care for his orphaned nieces and nephews.

At an age when Ismail should be focused on his own education, friendships, and future, he has taken on the responsibility of keeping these children alive.

Ismail is a computer programmer who dreams of continuing his university education and building a future where he can provide for his family. But right now, even meeting their most basic needs is a daily struggle.

He desperately needs help with:
🥛 Milk for the children
🍞 Food and other daily necessities
📚 University f33s so he can continue his education

I keep looking at this photo and thinking about everything that has been stolen from these children. Their loved ones. Their sense of safety. The childhood they deserved.

We cannot give them back the people they've lost. We cannot undo what they've experienced.

But we CAN help make sure they have food to eat. We can help Ismail continue his education. We can remind this family that they haven't been forgotten.

Ismail is only 20. He shouldn't have to carry all of this alone.

Please consider pitching in, even if it's just a few d0ll4rs. If you can't, sh4ring this post can help us reach someone who can.

These children deserve the opportunity to grow up, to feel safe, to laugh like they did in this photo, and to have a future beyond survival.

Please help me give Ismail and these children a little bit of hope.

"We are d***g slowly every day.” — Abdallah

I need you to hear my friend Abdallah's story. Because right now, he is carrying the weight of keeping 11 people alive, and he is running out of ways to do it.

Abdallah and his family are living in a tent in Gxza. He is caring for his three brothers with disabilities, six sisters, and his elderly, seriously ill mother.

His brothers desperately need medical treatment. His mother is sick. His sisters need food. And Abdallah is doing everything he possibly can to provide for them, but the c0st of survival has become overwhelming.

Yesterday, he sent me messages explaining just how desperate their situation has become.

🥖 A single bag of flour costs $100.

🥬 Vegetables cost approximately $300 a week.

🔥 Even firewood to prepare meals is difficult to find.

💊 His family needs medications he cannot afford.

Today, he sent me photographs of prescriptions from the Kuwait Specialty Field Hospital in Gxza. These are medications his family has been prescribed, but he doesn't have the money to purchase them.

And as if that weren't enough, Abdallah told me he had to borrow nearly 1,200 just to buy food for his family throughout October.

Now the people who lent him that money are demanding to be repaid.

He is entering another month with hungry family members and medical needs he cannot afford to address.

❤️ Right now, we urgently need to raise at least $1,200 to help him rep4y the m0ney he borrowed to feed his family in October.

Beyond that, they desperately need additional fxnds for November's food, medication, and basic necessities.

If you can do 5, please do.

If you can do 10, please do.

If you can !ve more, your generosity could make an enormous difference.

And if you cannot, please sh4re this post. Send it to a friend. Add it to your story. Help us reach people who can contr!bute.

Please don't let Abdallah's family become another story people scroll past.

They are not statistics. They are 11 human beings who deserve dignity, medical care, food, shelter, and a future.

Even with a little, for little by little helps.

Please help me show Abdallah that he and his family have not been forgotten. ❤️ by @sometimesalyreadsbooks

🍼💙 A BABY SHOWER FOR A LITTLE BOY IN GAZA 💙🍼

Any day now, a little boy will enter the world in Gxza. His parents, @mahmoud_rafiq_173 and Shahd are preparing to welcome their son under circumstances no family should ever have to face.

I've been thinking about all the things we typically do when someone we love is expecting a baby. We throw baby showers, buy tiny outfits, fill nurseries with diapers and blankets, and make sure the parents have everything they need before their little one arrives.

I wish I could do that for this family.

I wish I could put together an Amazon wishlist, organize a traditional baby shower, or collect donations of gently used baby clothes and supplies.

But I can't. Because they're in Gxza.

What I *can* do is invite all of you to help me throw a different kind of baby shower. One where instead of bringing a gift, you contribute toward helping Mahmoud and Shahd purchase the things their baby boy will need locally.

🧸 Baby clothes and warm blankets
🍼 Bottles, formula, and feeding supplies
👶 Diapers, wipes, and hygiene essentials
🛏️ A safe place for their little one to sleep
💙 Other newborn necessities

These are things so many of us take for granted, but for families in Gxza, even the most basic necessities can be extraordinarily expensive or difficult to find.

This little boy deserves to enter the world surrounded by love, warmth, and everything his parents can possibly provide.

He deserves soft blankets, clean clothes, a full belly, and parents who can spend their first days with him bonding instead of worrying about how they'll afford his next package of diapers.

We can't change the circumstances of his birth, but we *can* help change what his first days look like.

🎁 Will you help me shower Baby Al-Sadoudi with love?

Whether you can contribute 5, 10, 25, or more, every gift will help his parents prepare for his arrival.

And if you can't d0n8, please share this post. We need around 1500 USD to cover all their needs. by @sometimesalyreadsbooks

We did it! Sara can continue her college courses. 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Little Mian in Gxza is 1 year old! 💗😭
Can you believe it?

She's been very sick lately, and so has her big sister Rose. 💔

Another one of my families is expecting a baby any day now. We have to protect our youth, here and there! 🫂

It's been a quick, but good fall. I'm grateful for friends, family and the opportunity to carve pumpkins, ice cookies, see musicals, spend time with nature and animals. 🎃🍂💀

The Night Diary 🌙
A 4.5 Star Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani is a beautifully written, heartbreaking, and deeply moving story about identity, belonging, family, and survival during the Partition of India in 1947.

Told through the eyes of 12-year-old Nisha, the book makes an incredibly complicated and painful part of history feel deeply personal. I loved how it explored religious division, displacement, and the meaning of home through a child's perspective, reminding us that behind every historical event are real families whose lives are forever changed.

A powerful reminder of the human cost of hatred and division, and the resilience of those forced to leave everything behind. An important read for young people and adults alike.

I learned SO much about the Partition of India from this book!
