Luxury Customer Experience and Communication Coach helping brands delight customers

POSTS STORIES REELS

A salesperson complimented my outfit when I entered the store and it completely changed my day.

That small moment made me think about how many client interactions still open with “How may I help you?” — a line that starts a transaction before the client even feels like a person in the room.

One shift I train advisors on: swap identity questions (“Where are you from?” “What do you do?”) for observation (“That’s an interesting pairing — did you plan it?”).

It sounds small, but it changes the entire tone of the interaction — from an interview to a conversation.

Rapport isn’t a script. It’s a skill — and like any skill, it takes practice, not personality.

In my latest article, I go deeper into why this is harder than it looks, and what luxury brands can actually train their teams to do differently.

What is your ideal pace of life?

It’s a question I’ve been rethinking—personally, but also professionally.

In luxury, we often chase the “wow” moment. The unexpected gesture. The big reveal. But I’ve come to believe that the most powerful client experiences are rarely built there.

They are built in the fundamentals: Consistency. Attention to detail. Thoughtful repetition. Care in the everyday.

This months blog explores this theme: link in bio

I have personally also experienced the power of doing less, intentionally slowing down this year to make space for the simple joys.

My personal musings are shared in my monthly newsletter CONNECT - sign up link in Bio by @sonaligogia

You’d think training for decades might get repetitive—but it never does. The content may stay the same, but it’s the joy of connecting with new and seeking participants that keeps me going.

Recently, for the first time I delivered a #luxuryskillstraining in the land of unlimited warmth - Nigeria ! The wonderful team at Polo Luxury impressed me with their innate sense of hospitality and most importantly eagerness to excel as luxury professionals.

The energetic and confident participants, spent 2 days in the classroom discussing how global luxury best practices could be relevantly implemented for a growing luxury customer base in Nigeria. I look forward to my next visit ! by @sonaligogia

Last week was equally exciting and shocking. I messed up - for a reason I cannot explain, I removed my watch and forgot it in the seatback pocket of a flight landing into Dubai. A now vintage @omega gifted to me by my parents when I was young girl - my first luxury encounter in life.

At the airport I noticed it was missing, and as I walked over to the lost property desk at Arrivals in Dubai’s Terminal 2 with a sinking feeling, I mentally soothed my self saying maybe it’s time to let go, mistakes happen. I was told there is a new process where I have to email them and file a missing report and it could take days to get back to me.

I sent the email without any hope and even tried to put a positive spin to it, thinking maybe it’s a sign to treat myself to a new watch.

A week in, life had moved on, and miraculously they found my watch! I know we are accustomed to these moments in Dubai, but I got to say this one was totally unexpected. Super grateful. Thank you @dubaiairports lost property for bringing back a precious memory to me. by @sonaligogia

2025 was a year of stretching, recalibrating, and stepping up.

Moving to Dubai pushed me to rethink how I build work, partnerships, and impact—while continuing to grow Bolt, the experience design agency I co-founded in India. What began as a CX strategy-led practice evolved this year into something deeper: owning execution, facilitating across stakeholders, and measuring real outcomes, not just intent.

Inspired by the UAE’s maturing CX landscape, I strengthened my practice through CXPA certification, expanded Bolt’s role as a CX facilitator, and designed more nuanced training for luxury frontline teams—focusing on relationships, personalization, and VIP clienteling.

The year also demanded resilience. Working across India, the UAE, and Europe meant long days, early mornings, and learning where I need stronger boundaries. I’m proud of the work delivered—from city-level CX projects to workshops with luxury watch, beauty, and heritage brands—but I’m also clear that 2026 needs more strategic focus and breathing room.

I’ve shared a personal reflection on what worked, what challenged me, and what I’m aiming for next year👇

LIFE OF A TRAINER!

Most trainers know the 'discipline' behind a successful workshop. You start classroom set up by 8am and spend the day on your feet. Being workshop ready starts with being well rested, so you can give your best to every participant. Being engaging demands a trainer to be 100% present. My trainer tips involve no Netflix the night before so I am in bed early, and always a light lunch no matter how tempting the buffet is, so I am energised enough to take my participants out of food coma. Ideally, I try to squeeze in a quick workout really early, as I find it keeps me agile through the day.

What are your trainer hacks to maximise performance?

Holiday season brings events, campaigns, gifting, launches… but one thing never changes: the human connection is still the biggest luxury.

VIP clienteling isn’t about reaching out, it’s about reaching the right way, with intention, personalization, and meaning.

In my new article, I share how advisors can balance structure and heart to create real loyalty,

Happy Diwali to everyone!

I’m spending mine doing what I value the most, connecting with people.
No flights, no meetings, no “quick check-ins.” Just quality time with friends and family.

Festivals have a way of reminding us that to be surrounded by genuine warmth and loved ones is a privilege. So wherever you are, whether you’re celebrating loudly or quietly, I hope enjoy the company of loved ones. by @sonaligogia

LUXURY SALES AREN’T JUST ABOUT PRODUCTS.
They’re about connection.

Across markets, advisors can tick every box—knowledge, efficiency, courtesy—but clients still leave feeling something’s missing.

The best advisors don’t just sell—they care first. They build trust, relate to lifestyles, and turn encounters into lifelong relationships.
