Photographer @chrishenry shares what he loves most about photographing wildlife portraits 👉 "Nothing captivates me more than the faces of animals. Photographing something immobile like a mountain creates a relaxing and carefree experience because your subject isn't going anywhere. My experience photographing wildlife has been the complete opposite, and that's what I love about it. Oftentimes I've spotted and then lost wildlife within a matter of 10 seconds, if even that. Switching to a mirrorless camera was an important upgrade because it allowed me to capture every moment or these ephemeral encounters, in high-resolution, with every facial detail down to the iris." #SonyAlpha a7R III • 300mm F4 • #BeAlpha 🐆 #wildlifephotography #wildlifephotographer #wildlifeplanet #photooftheday #photo #photographylovers #animales #animallovers #nature #naturephotography #sony_wildlife_ by @sony_wildlife

Bald Eagles are truly majestic creatures. Seeing them in the wild is one thing, but getting close and photographing them takes things to a whole new level! When it comes to photographing birds in flight, it is almost like cheating when using the Sony a1 as the insane eye AF tracking system will track their eyes as they move throughout your frame. What a time to be interested in wildlife photography! Be sure to swipe left to see the entirety of this incredible shot!

Some tips and tricks on creating dimension in your images from photographer @philliphallphotography 😎 "Understanding how to capture your subject’s interactions with foreground and background elements when shooting in the field can help to elevate the images you capture. Foreground elements will exaggerate light, add atmosphere and provide context, whilst a clean background will help remove visual clutter and help your subject pop right out of the image. More often than not, a step to the left or to the right can make a huge difference."

Rain didn't stop photographer @olivertweediephoto from capturing the beauty of his local habitat 🌧️ "On a typical PNW winter day, I had to push myself to go out in the rain. Down at my local lake, I was looking for owls when I was drawn to the sound of a Belted kingfisher on her favourite branch. I snuck in with my tripod and camera set to a super low shutter speed of 1/6 of a second using the stillness of the hunting kingfisher to my advantage."

The green palm pit viper, other wise known as Bothriechis lateralis, is an incredible species of snake to photograph. They live in parts of western Costa Rica as well as Panama and can grow in size to about 40" long. You can find them often coiled up on top of palm leafs, blending into their surroundings like you can see in these images. Their color pattern consists of an emerald green to bluish green ground color, overlaid with a series of yellow alternating paravertebral vertical bars. While they are venomous, their bites are rarely lethal and they are generally not aggressive, making them much less stressful to photograph!
