POSTS STORIES REELS

A HUGE thanks to @jazzwinnipeg for offering me a spot in this year’s series at the beautiful @fortgarryhotel! ❤️

I may not be a “real jazz guy”, but clanking my way around the keys through a few jazz standards, some crooner classics, songs from my biggest soul influences, and a couple of originals — accompanied by some of the best musicians (and people!) I know — was an absolute treat!! 🎹🎶

Performing in front of a receptive audience is my drug. 😍

Whether it’s in front of thousands in a massive stadium and millions watching on TV, 20 guests in someone’s living room, a packed 2,000-seat concert hall, or an intimate little jazz club… THAT’S when I come alive.

That’s when my spirit connects with people. When I feel completely comfortable letting out that fun, extroverted entertainer side of me that doesn’t always get to come out in everyday life.

And funny enough, when I perform, I like to think I’m connecting with people to help them through their daily struggles, to encourage them to feel their emotions fully, and maybe even find a little healing through music…

But the beautiful irony is that I’m often the one who walks away feeling healed. 🥹

The love, the energy, the conversations, the kind words after a performance… I receive SO much more than I could ever hope to give.

And coming out of Thanksgiving weekend, I’m reminded just how incredibly fortunate I am to have been given these gifts, and even more fortunate to have opportunities to share them with others. ❤️

I know I don’t perform publicly as often as I used to, but patience, my friends… 😉 More shows and dates (and the album)#soulbear #loudandproud #2slgbtqia #liveconcert #are coming! 🤗

Love y’all, and thank you for continuing to support me, my music, and this crazy little journey of mine! 😍

🇨🇦 IT’S HERE! THE FULL O CANADA VIDEO!

You asked, and I’m excited to finally share it with you!

At the 2026 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic in Winnipeg, I had the honour of performing O Canada in ASL and LSQ alongside SoulBear, who sang the English and French portions of the anthem.

My signing was shown on the jumbotron inside Princess Auto Stadium, but it wasn’t broadcast through television or social media. After the event, several Deaf Canadians reached out, asking if they could watch the full performance.

So, I made it happen!

I recreated the video to bring the English and French vocals together with my ASL and LSQ performance in one place.

🇨🇦 Four languages. One anthem. One unforgettable moment.

To my knowledge, this may be the first documented video bringing together O Canada in English, French, ASL, and LSQ.

For me, this is about more than a national anthem. It’s about language, access, Deaf representation, and making sure more people can experience moments like this.

Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to make this video happen. This one is for all of you! ❤️

🤟 Watch, share, and help spread the word!

ARTIST NOTES: SoulBear 🎙️

“When I was young, I actually was too shy to sing in public.”

For SoulBear, finding his voice meant stepping out from behind an instrument — and out from hiding. What began with saxophone and classical training eventually led him through pop, rock and R&B to the soul-filled performer and entertainer Winnipeg audiences know today.

Catch SoulBear this Sunday at Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel, bringing soul, jazz, crooner classics, French favourites and a few surprises to the Club Room.

It was such a privilege and an honour to perform at the historic unveiling of the Thunderhead Monument in Ottawa on August 21, 2026. 🏳️‍🌈🇨🇦

This national monument recognizes the discrimination and injustice experienced by 2SLGBTQ+ people across Canada, particularly those who were targeted during the Government of Canada’s LGBT Purge.

To have been part of such a meaningful moment of recognition, remembrance and visibility is something I will forever cherish and remember ❤️

A huge thank you to all who fought for our rights, and to the LGBT Purge Fund and Rainbow Veterans Canada for the invitation and for allowing me the honour of lending my voice to this historic occasion.

Wow… Already 5 years ago today, I released what would become SoulBear’s very first original song: Loud and Proud.

What began as a song became a statement—a reminder that everyone deserves to live authentically, love freely, and never apologize for who they are.

Five years later, its message feels just as important.

If you haven’t heard it yet, I’d love for you to give it a listen. And if it resonates with you, please share it, add it to your playlist, and help keep its message alive. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Snippets from a recent live Piano Bar performance. Real unedited sound, no autotune and piano mistakes left in, cause all of that is what makes an authentic interactive acoustic performance!

What an outstanding week at #MusicNMavens ! From the soulful sounds of SoulBear [Pics 1-5] to the Métis fiddling of the Wrigley Brothers (and sister, and father!) [Pics 6-10] It was a week of joyous music. Not shown in this post are the photos from our "After Hours" concert this past Wednesday, featuring Erin Propp and Larry Roy - but those photos are coming very soon. Thanks very much to @keithlevitphoto for capturing these incredible musical moments.

Next week, we're looking forward to Joey Gregorash and Ari & Yuri Hooker joining us on the Berney Theatre stage on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.
