I baked my sourdough bread before anyone arrived. One of my wellness hacks. That is how Soluna begins in the preparation and the intention before the first person walks through the door. Yesterday we held an evening cacao and sound ceremony under the majestic redwoods. Collaborating with the beautiful soul @larawoolfson 🌸. Two hours. Cacao. Singing. Sound bowls and drums (the ocean drum is my new favorite). Koshi chimes and tuning forks. An alter built from what the forest offered...fallen mossy bark, red berries, ferns, madrone branches, rosemary and lavender. People came. They gathered. They connected. They laughed. They shared stories. They sat. They let something loosen-they released, restored. This is our community. A collective movement for everyone who pours into others and rarely stops to be filled. We gather. We restore. We heal. If this speaks to you or someone you know, follow along! More is coming soon...@soulunaproject #wellness2026 #redwoodceremony #wegatherwereatore #soulunacommunity #sacredspace by @soulunaproject

As the days grow shorter, our bodies whisper what the earth already knows, it’s time to slow down.

SouLuna was born from the rhythms of nature---the inhale of creation and the exhale of rest. This season we invite you to return inward, to listen deeply, and to care for yourself in quiet, sacred ways.

May you find warmth in stillness, softness in reflection, and light in your own company.

Take a deep breath and rest dear one 🍁🍁🍁🫶🏼

Sometimes the soul calls for renewal ...a sacred limpia, a cleansing of energy that invites clarity, peace, and reconnection.
We cleanse not because we are broken, but because we are ready to remember who we are.

Whether through smoke, water, herbs, or intention the act of cleansing is ancient, rooted in love and remembrance. It is a conversation with your soul!

Today, we invite you to pause.
Light your incense, breathe deeply, and let what no longer serves you drift away and call in what you seek.

This is your limpia. Feel your body lighten, your heart open and your energy vibrate. Your return to balance. Your soul’s renewal. 🌙

Kenia - Nature’s Hold
Cargaba tristeza, as opposed to cargada de tristeza. I was carrying my sadness. It was weighing me down, heavy like a bag full of bricks. I didn't feel full of sadness, which was different. My days would transpire in the normalcy of routine, yet I was bogged down by this deep feeling that I just couldn't shake. I couldn't put it down. I was exhausted.

As a Puertorriqueña who has walked and felt between two languages all of my life, my deepest thoughts often come in both English and Spanish. Sometimes in Spanglish, como ahora.

In April of 2022, my mother was dying. I had also arrived at the painful realization that my marriage was coming to an end. I felt suffocated by the weight of the moment, paralyzed by the heaviness. On a whim, I rented a cabin in the woods. I knew I had to get away, and nature has always provided comfort. For the following three days, I rose to cool air and morning dust. I sipped coffee in the gentle company of birds and the soft breeze. I stepped out of my cabin to put my feet in the grass, felt the warmth of the soil beneath, and anchored myself to the earth's energy. I hugged the bare ground, moving my body in the primitive sequences of our ancestors. I gazed at the sun, paused in grateful contemplation, and took deep breaths of acceptance. I felt safe.

In silence, I allowed the sadness to engulf me. I watched my resistance melt, evaporating and condensing into tears. I idly wilted to the floor. Crumbling into the pieces of all of my sorrow. The grief, the despair, the disappointment, the frustration, the fear, all pouring out of me in the deepest of wails. Tears rushing down my face like a full river, bursting into a waterfall. I cried inconsolably. As the sadness inundated the room, I heard my profound wallow carried out by the wind, and the trees whispering, “let go, I've got you”.

In that stillness, I released what was my own to carry. What I thought no one else could bear to witness. My soul was soothed...#soulunaproject #soulunaprojectstories by @soulunaproject

SouLuna Stories

Honoring Our First Story

In 1980, a young Puerto Rican, twice divorced, single mother living in Chicago was determined to escape poverty, claim her independence, and live life on her terms.

She pursued a career in law enforcement and became a Cook County Sheriff. In that decade, there were not many Latinas in this role.

Guided by her insatiable need for freedom, she carved a path of
resilience, strength, and her own power.

I recently wrapped up her interview and I am grateful to be able to share a part of her story with you soon.

I am so proud to love and call her mom and share her story that is long overdue to be told and celebrated.
Her name is Josie and her story is where the SouLuna Storytelling Series begins. by @soulunaproject

SouLuna Project is gathering stories of healing, resilience, and wellness. Share yours - your voice, your story, could be the spark someone else needs. DM to submit! #storytelling #yourstory2025 #yourstory #soulunaproject #healthandwellnessjourney #healingjourney by @soulunaproject

We each carry a story that has shaped us—of resilience, healing, or simply a moment of listening deeply to our soul. At SouLuna, we believe storytelling is medicine. When we share our stories, we heal not just ourselves, but we also create ripples of connection and inspiration for others.

I’m beginning a storytelling project as part of the SouLuna journey, and I’d love to invite you to be part of it. 🌿

Here’s how you can share:
🌱Send me a message or email with your story (it can be just a paragraph or a longer reflection). If you choose, use one of these prompts to guide you if it helps:
• A time when nature held you.
• A ritual or practice that carried you through a hard season.
• What “wellness” looks like in your life right now or what you need it to look like.

You can choose to share with your name or anonymously. I’ll weave these stories into SouLuna’s offerings—through writing, reflection, and community gatherings—so together we can build a circle of voices reminding us that we are not alone and all have a story to share.

🌙 Your story matters. Will you share it?

When we share our stories, we connect with our true feelings, acknowledge versions of ourselves, and restore spiritual tenderness. We find strength in the very stories that we may have felt imprisoned, invisible, or forgotten. Through our creative community of storytellers, we build on our resilience, create belonging, nurture our lived experiences, and see one another in all our humanity. I would love to hear your story, whichever one comes up for you first. What story would you like to share? #storytellingproject #storyproject25 #storytellingmagic #storytelling #storytellingworkshop #storytellingphotography#soulunaproject #wellnessequity #bewell by @soulunaproject

🌲 This past week I welcomed the Youth Health and Wellness Leadership team to our retreat and invited them to immerse themselves in nature on Mt. Madonna, and the insights and connections were transformative.

There's something powerful about stepping away from the office and into the redwood forests to explore resilient leadership. Nature proved to be our greatest teacher and one that we must connect with more often:

Bend, don't break: Like trees in storms, resilient leaders flex with change while staying rooted in their values - they practice adaptive leadership.

Ecosystem thinking: The strongest leaders understand success comes through lifting others up - they practice capacity building and inspire endless possibilities and hope.

Flow over force: Water carves canyons through persistence, not aggression - they practice steadiness and grace under all circumstances.

The wellness inspired activities we engaged in enhanced their wellness tote, reaffirmed their leadership stance (always children and youth first), and reminded them of the importance of rest, self-nurturing, and groundedness for resilient leadership.

Watching leaders reconnect with their authentic selves surrounded by ancient forests reminded me why stepping outside our comfort zones is where real growth happens. #leadership #resilience #leadershipdevelopment #naturebasedlearning #biomimicry #servantleadership #forestbathing #soundbath #yoganidra #herbalism #essentialcare by @soulunaproject

Centering my well-being and sharing a 30 second nugget with y'all to spark centering yours, if needed.

I enjoyed most of my day at The Forest of Nisene Marks in Aptos (a must visit if you've never been), found this peaceful and inviting creek...seriously, so beautiful to watch and be internally nudged to meditate and connect with self and nature.

There is profound healing and gratitude in forest bathing... simply be(ing) while surrounded by humongous trees and listening to the gentle rhythmic flow of nature just hits different, it's magical.

At times, I/we get so caught up in the grind and impacting change that I/we sometimes forget how much I/we need these moments to ground us for whatever is to come next.

Five minutes outside in nature-deeply breathing in the air can reset your whole day and provide you with the enlightenment and answers you may be seeking. #soulunaproject #souluna #soulunaproject #naturewhispers #forestbathing #forestbathing🌲 #innerpeace #soulfulreflections #wildebloomjourney #wildebloomstories by @soulunaproject
