The Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Federal Republic of Nigeria

POSTS STORIES REELS

Fellow Nigerians,
Our Beloved Youths,

I address you today with a heart full of empathy and a deep sense of duty. We are living through challenging times, and I want to acknowledge the difficulties that many of you, especially our youth, are facing. The economic pressures, social uncertainties, and other related concerns weigh heavily on our nation.

Your frustrations and reservations are not lost on us. We hear your cries for change, for a better and more equitable Nigeria. I want to assure you that these concerns are taken with the utmost seriousness by the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. We are committed to listening, engaging, and working with you to find sustainable solutions to the issues that confront us.

The government has initiated several policies and programs aimed at addressing the needs and aspirations of our youth. One of such initiatives is the introduction of student loans to ease the burden of educational expenses and ensure that no Nigerian youth is denied the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams due to financial constraints. The Tinubu-led administration has also made significant strides in providing access to funds for young entrepreneurs through various schemes, such as the Consumer Credit Scheme, designed to support innovation and enterprise.

In addition, we are focusing on job creation and skills development. Programs aimed at enhancing employability and creating sustainable livelihoods are being prioritized. We are committed to ensuring that the Nigerian youth are not just jobseekers, but job creators.

I also want to highlight the efforts of the House of Representatives in this regard. We are in the process of developing formal legislative mechanisms to ensure continuous engagement and dialogue with our youth. We believe that your voices must be heard, and we are creating platforms for regular interaction to build consensus on the way forward.

Therefore, I urge you to remember that nation-building is a collective task. We must shun violence and embrace dialogue. Your right to protest is acknowledged and respected. Let us use legitimate avenues to express our grievances and work together towards constructive.... by @speakerabbas

Twenty years of wisdom, service and a remarkable legacy of leadership!

I heartily congratulate His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa‘ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, on the 20th anniversary of his coronation as the 20th Sultan.

Over the past two decades, His Eminence has exemplified purposeful traditional leadership, combining the responsibilities of a revered religious leader and custodian of our rich cultural heritage with an unwavering commitment to national unity, peace and stability.

Through his wise counsel, statesmanship and leadership of various councils of traditional rulers and Islamic institutions, the Sultan has remained a formidable voice for interfaith harmony, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence in our country. His interventions and guidance have continued to inspire confidence across the political, traditional and religious establishments.

As an elder statesman whose influence transcends the boundaries of Sokoto and the northern region, his enduring contributions to nation-building deserve profound recognition.

On this auspicious occasion, I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants His Eminence many more years in good health, renewed strength and divine wisdom to continue serving humanity and our beloved nation.

Congratulations, Your Eminence, on 20 remarkable years on the throne! by @speakerabbas

NIGERIA DOES NOT LACK PROPERTY. NIGERIA LACKS ENOUGH TRUST IN PROPERTY.

A real estate market cannot thrive on uncertainty, fragmented processes and fraud. We must build an ecosystem where property ownership is verifiable, investments are protected and homeownership becomes more accessible to ordinary Nigerians.

At the Stakeholders' Conference on the proposed National Real Estate Regulatory Authority in Abuja, I called for far-reaching reforms to reposition the sector through three critical shifts:

1. PROTECTING PROPERTY AND INVESTMENT: Establishing credible regulatory safeguards, verifiable registers of developers and agents, and protected escrow arrangements for qualifying off-plan developments.

2. EMBRACING DIGITAL INNOVATION: Connecting property records, ownership identities, surveys and title information through a digitally integrated verification framework. I also proposed a Legislative Sandbox for Property Technology (PropTech) to encourage innovation without compromising consumer protection.

3. STRENGTHENING COORDINATION AND ENFORCEMENT: Ensuring that relevant institutions work together, share information and enforce standards without duplicating responsibilities or undermining the constitutional roles of states in land administration.

For too many Nigerians, acquiring property remains an exercise in uncertainty. Buyers struggle to verify ownership, developers navigate endless approvals, banks encounter questionable titles, and families sometimes lose their life savings to fraudulent transactions.

These failures increase housing costs, discourage investment and reward dishonesty.

Good regulation is not a burden on honest business; it is protection against dishonest competition.

Our objective is not to create another government agency for its own sake. It is to protect property, secure capital, attract investment and build a housing market where confidence, transparency and affordability become the defining principles.

One Vision. One Ecosystem. One National Housing and Real Estate Plan. by @speakerabbas

Development is not measured by promises made, but by opportunities created and lives transformed.

Today in Sabon Gari, Kaduna State, we took another significant step towards bringing the dividends of democracy closer to our people, with new investments in education, healthcare and public safety.

I laid the foundations for a new 10-classroom secondary school at Saidu Primary School, a National Open University (NOUN) study centre in Samaru, a diagnostic centre at Isa Chikaji Primary Healthcare Centre, and a police station under the Zaria Area Command.

We also facilitated a 20-bed primary healthcare centre at Zangon Dan Borno, which we commissioned as part of this development drive.

For me, these projects represent more than physical structures. They represent a child whose access to quality education is improved, a mother who can receive timely medical attention, a young person who can pursue higher education closer to home, and a community whose security is strengthened.

Our commitment does not end with groundbreaking ceremonies. We must ensure that every project is completed to standard, delivered on schedule and put to meaningful use.

This responsibility also extends to our ongoing investments in student accommodation, educational infrastructure, youth development, healthcare, transportation and community facilities across Zaria and beyond.

I remain grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which continues to provide the policy direction for translating governance into tangible development at the grassroots.

Our people deserve more than promises. They deserve opportunities, functional institutions and enduring infrastructure. That is the standard we must pursue, and that is the responsibility I remain committed to fulfilling. by @speakerabbas

The strongest testimony of leadership is not what a leader says about himself, but what his record says about him.

For over three years, I have preferred to let the work of the legislature, our institutional reforms and the impact of our constituency interventions speak for themselves. I have always believed that public service is about responsibility and results, not the pursuit of applause or publicity.

On Monday, November 2, 2026, I will make a special appearance in a nationally televised conversation, marking my first major televised media chat since assuming the speakership of the 10th House of Representatives.

Titled PARTNERSHIP THAT DELIVERS: THE TINUBU-ABBAS RECORD, the conversation will provide an opportunity to reflect on our legislative journey since June 2023, the achievements of the 10th Assembly and our partnership with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

I look forward to discussing the policies, projects, reforms and people-focused initiatives through which the Renewed Hope mandate is making its mark across Northern Nigeria, and indeed, our country.

I believe leadership must be accountable, progress must be documented, and the people deserve to know what is being done in their name and for their benefit.

I invite you to join me for this important conversation.

The People's House is Working. by @speakerabbas

Every sitting must count. Every decision must matter.

Earlier today, I presided over plenary at the House of Representatives as we continued our legislative responsibility to Nigerians.

As the 10th Assembly advances its mandate, our commitment remains unwavering: purposeful lawmaking, effective oversight and people-centred representation.

As The People’s House, we remain focused on turning our mandate into meaningful impact.

Our work continues. Our people remain our priority. by @speakerabbas

Today in Zaria, hope is not a speech. It is a sewing machine. A freezer. A solar system. Tools that turn skill into income.

People of Zaria Federal Constituency, thank you. You trusted me with your mandate. Today we put that trust to work.

These sewing machines, freezers, diagnostic scanners, mechanical tools, vulcanising machines, car wash machines, welding equipment and solar systems are not gifts. They are starters. Take care of them. Serve your customers well. Keep records. And when you grow, teach someone else the trade.

This is how President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda reaches our communities - through practical support that creates jobs, raises incomes and improves daily life. Working with the President, the National Assembly and Governor Uba Sani, we are turning community needs into real projects.

Remain united. Protect our peace. Do not allow anyone - or any false message - to turn neighbour against neighbour. Judge for yourselves.
On 16 January 2027, let’s renew our confidence in President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, the APC and the representation that keeps bringing development home.

Thank you, and may God bless Zaria.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. by @speakerabbas

KADUNA HAS SPOKEN. THE JOURNEY TO 2027 IS GATHERING MOMENTUM!

Kaduna was more than a campaign stop; it was a powerful demonstration of unity, confidence and the enduring strength of our political family.

Joining our great party, the APC, and the people of Kaduna State for the flag-off of our campaign in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition was a reminder that leadership is strengthened by the people and progress is sustained by purposeful governance.

From the historic heartland of Northern Nigerian politics, we march forward with renewed determination, stronger bonds and an unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The task ahead is clear: to consolidate our gains, deepen our connection with the people and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

The journey continues. The mission is clear. The momentum is building.

As our elders say, when the roots of a tree are deep, the winds of the forest cannot bring it down.

Onward, together, towards 2027!

2027 MUST BE ABOUT MORE THAN WINNING ELECTIONS; IT MUST BE ABOUT INCLUSION AND GOOD GOVERNANCE!

I received the leadership of the City Boy Movement, led by its Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, in Abuja and urged the movement to prioritise young Nigerians, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in its mobilisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.

With INEC recording 10.8 million newly registered voters and the movement boasting 4.8 million members, I encouraged every member to mobilise at least one additional youth voter. I also stressed the urgent need to address the underrepresentation of women and PLWDs in our political and public institutions.

Beyond the 2027 elections, political movements must remain committed to civic education, youth development, community service, and good governance. I am pleased that President Tinubu has embraced the National Assembly’s legislative efforts to advance inclusion for women and PLWDs.

I also welcome the City Boy Movement’s adoption of my proposed PBAT Stewardship Account, which will promote public awareness of the President’s policies, programmes, and achievements.

Ultimately, our success must be measured not only by the votes we secure, but by the lives we improve and the people we empower.

Let us build a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria where no one is left behind. by @speakerabbas

THE ROAD TO 2027 MUST LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND!

Our youths, women, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) must be at the heart of our political mobilisation, not at its margins.

Today, I received the leadership of the City Boy Movement, led by its Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, in Abuja. I commended their commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and urged them to deepen their engagement with young Nigerians, particularly the 10.8 million newly registered voters recorded by INEC.

With 4.8 million members and counting, I encouraged the movement to mobilise at least one additional youth voter per member. I also stressed the need to prioritise women and PLWDs, whose representation in our political and public institutions remains unacceptably low.

I am encouraged that President Tinubu has embraced the National Assembly’s legislative efforts to advance inclusion for these groups, with executive bills expected to follow.

Beyond winning elections, political movements must champion good governance, youth development, civic education, and community service. That is why I was pleased that the City Boy Movement embraced my proposed PBAT Stewardship Account, which will help communicate the President’s policies, programmes, and achievements to Nigerians.

Our politics must be measured not only by the votes we win, but by the lives we improve and the people we bring along.

Together, let us build a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria where every citizen has a stake in our democracy. by @speakerabbas
