Sometimes you just need to try something new… even when you’re not sure.

10 months ago, I started freestyle drone flying.
I knew it would be hard. Crashes, broken parts, lots to learn.

I also had that thought: am I too old for this?

But I tried anyway.

Now I spend my time outside, learning new tricks and getting better every day.

Maybe one day it can even become my job.

All because I stopped being afraid to make mistakes ✌️

Can you learn a Rubik’s Cube trick with a DJI Neo in under 1 hour?

I’m testing my 3-2-1 method to learn 10 new FPV tricks:

3h in the sim
2h on a tiny whoop
1h with the DJI Neo

The idea? Push myself without turning every mistake into an expensive crash. 😅

After days of rain, I finally got a dry day, yet being a bit windy.

25 minutes of fighting the wind, a few “oh shit” moments, and one DJI Neo being pushed pretty far past its comfort zone later…

I finally managed to do the Rubik’s Cube with the Neo!

9 more intermediate FPV tricks to go.

Left a pair of shoes at home so I could fit my DJI Avata in my bag. 😂

I was heading to Spain for a few days, and since I live in one of the flattest countries in the world, I wasn’t going to waste the opportunity to finally fly some mountains.

6AM alarm.
One hour drive.
Two batteries.
No plan.

Just me, the mountains, and a sunrise I’d been dreaming about for way too long.

Safe to say, mountain surfing is now officially on the holiday itinerary.

Stepping into the Wild West for a day 🤠🌵

Once you start FPV, you start seeing the world differently.

Too bad I didn’t bring my tiny whoop with me this time. 😅

From simulator to real life. After 3 hours of simulator training, it was time to take the Rubik’s Cube outside with a Tiny Whoop.

The goal of my 3-2-1 FPV method is simple:
3 hours simulator → 2 hours Tiny Whoop → 1 hour beginner FPV drone.

I expected the trick to feel pretty similar… but the timing was completely different. So I came up with the most ridiculous timing trick ever:

Macaroni. And. Cheese. 🧀😂

Somehow, it worked.

And after just 30 minutes, I landed my first Rubik’s Cube in real life! From there, I spent the rest of the session trying different variations and building confidence.

Now there’s only one step left…

🚀 Can I land it with the DJI Neo?

Part 3 coming next. Follow along!

Can a structured training method make you better at FPV? 🧐

After the beginner phase, progress starts to slow down. You want to learn new tricks, but every crash gets more expensive… and suddenly you’re flying more safely instead of pushing your limits.

So I created my 3-2-1 FPV training method:
3 hours in the simulator
2 hours with a Tiny Whoop
1 hour with a beginner FPV drone

The goal? Learn a new trick and land it without crashing.

First up: the Rubik’s Cube

A 180 flip, a full roll, and another 180 flip.. sounds simple, but making it smooth and keeping your altitude is a whole different challenge.

Part 1 is all about simulator practice. Learning the movement, fixing mistakes, and building consistency before taking it into the real world.

Will the training method actually work?
Time to find out. 👀

Part 2: Tiny Whoop practice coming soon.

Did you know you can discharge your lipo batteries by charging a powerbank?

I don’t fly to prove anything.

I fly because I love seeing what I’m capable of becoming.
